April, (((HUGS))). Mae and I are twinsies in a few ways it seems

I love everything especially the navy coat. You have such a command over your style. It is amazing.

I was trying to figure out how to articulate what I was thinking and Debbie said it perfectly! Love how coordinated and timeless and fun this collection is, there isn't a random item in it. I learn so much from your posts Angie!

You will look fab in every one of your choices and I'm looking forward to seeing how you style them. I may be wrong but to me the colors seem a bit moodier than your usual palette.

Debbie and Vintage Dawn, that is high praise - thank you!

Bonnie, when you see the items like this in one spot - YES! Moody and subdued for me. (Although I wear a lot of navy, and rekindled my love for burgundy). What you are not seeing here is how I will wear the items: with sour brights, light blue, and white!

For example:

  • Bright orange top under the burgundy suit, with white boots and bag
  • Bright red or citron top under the toffee moto (already done that!) - and light blue bag
  • Navy top with navy skirt plus white and citron accents
  • Turquoise, citron and shocking pink with the navy coat

Hope that paints a picture

Love your choices, Angie. I appreciate the examples you gave on styling the toffee moto and the navy skirt, both pieces in which I'm very interested. I'm short and the moto jacket would not be cropped on me and I worry that will give me a matronly look. Are the sleeves too long on you, as several reviewers indicated? And I love the navy skirt but not certain how to style it. I have several bright color short sleeve sweaters but they would go on the outside of the skirt. Would have to have it shortened but would be worth it.

hbeaver, I have long arms, so they are not long on me. See dressing room pic. Hard to hem because of the zipper.

The skirt is surprisingly versatile! I'm wearing it with a breezy boxy billowing blouse here. Try the skirt!

Glad you haven't given up your brights. Love both of the outfits shown above and the others you described sound like you!

bonnie, thank you! Giving up brights would be inauthentic

For example, it was chilly when we ate outside on Sunday night. I wore this. Brights with the toffee!

Wow, that beautiful navy coat. The burgundy suit, the Hugo Boss. . . everything looks so fab. The Hugo Boss pants remind me of some jeans you had/have, with the sailor-style buttons.

Just love your picks Angie! Suit is amazing on you, I am intrigued by the pea coat and hope to see it on you (in due time), boots are a no brainer, and also love the skirt and jeans. All make total sense but also seem special!

Looking good, Angie. This was quite a good year for you. Enjoy it all. The coats and suit are especially nice.

Thanks, very much, everyone! I'm thrilled with my NAS purchases

That skirt is so great, I love it.
The way you styled it with the blue shirt is a super example of its versatility.
Thanks for sharing the pix.

Thanks, Indigoprint! It's a more versatile skirt than I thought, and already getting a lot of wear. Unexpected!

Beautiful pieces, Angie! I really admire your ability to wear dressier items for everyday, e.g., that satin skirt, which I would have relegated to "special occasion" wear and then never worn :)! It looks so fab with the loose button down and your creamy loafers. Thanks for the inspiration!

Jonesy! Nice to see you chime in. I hope you're all moved into your new abode and enjoying the Summer! I thought you might like the billowing blouse

Angie, I bought the Vince skirt and love the fit and color but…I have a question about the fabric and hope you can help. My skirt arrived shipped directly from Vince, on a hanger, nicely packaged. The fabric looks rumpled, no folds or creases, but almost textured; it does not look smooth as I expected. Did you need to iron or steam yours? How does it look after wearing? Thanks in advance for your help.

I enjoyed this post so much and am grateful to you for sharing Angie!

I enjoy fashion, but to quote another commenter, I have never felt I had much "command" over my fashion/shopping choices. Reading [and rereading!] your commentary helps me so much on my own style journey.

Thank you!

JamC, yay! We are skirt twinsies. YES, the fabric of the skirt has a subtle pebbled texture. It's divine! It adds depth to the style. I've ironed the skirt a few times to get rid of some big creases, but the pebbled texture remains. Personally, I find it gorgeous. The skirt feels soooooo good on! I love the way it moves, when I move. The opposite of constricting.

sabimct, oh, good! I'm glad this post was helpful. Shout if you need wardrobe help, and FWIW, I will happily offer my two cents.

Angie, Thank you for your reply! I just wasn’t sure if it was supposed to have that texture as it wasn’t in the Nordstrom description and you hadn’t mentioned it. Looking forward to figuring out how I will wear it and different things I can pair with it!

JamC, good point. I will add those details to the description on the skirt!
