Hi everyone,
Just thought I would chime in on my recent purchases at NAS but first let me
explain my shopping style. I use to just buy when the mood would strike
me but then I realized that I was buying a bunch of things I didn't really need
and ended up just taking up space in my closet so I changed that habit a couple
of years ago and I admit there are times when I find myself wanting to fall
back into that habit! Now I try to access my needs each season and decide what
I need/want and then only purchase those items and once those are purchased
that is it. So when you see what I did buy, please keep in mind that I “probably”
won't buy anymore clothing for the until Spring. I also have learned that I
enjoy browsing online but I am not very successful shopping online so all of my
purchases were made in the store, unless the size/color option I needed wasn't
available so the SA ordered it for me.
Here are the items that I had on my list of wants/needs

  1. Casual Rain jacket for winter months
  2. black higher shaft booties
  3. Sperry Duck Boots
  4. flats or loafers
  5. black kick crop pants
  6. leather jacket (not black or tan)
  7. blazer
  8. cashmere sweater
  9. Halogen Windowpane vest
  10. Zella leggings and other workout gear (bra, socks,
    t-shirt)
  11. Anorak jacket

And here
is what I purchased:
Zella Metamorph Hooded Anorak: Very light weight, seems very pack-able
and good fit. My usual size small fit well with room for layering if necessary
but it had a very crinkly sound that bothered me so I took it back and couldn’t
find anything to replace it.
Pikolinos Andorra Boots: My SA brought these out when she brought out
the boots I had picked to try on and I have to say the minute I put them on I
knew they were the ones. They fit perfectly, were very comfortable and looked
nice on my feet. I liked that they weren't too tight around my ankle. I took my
usual size so didn't need to size up as recommended.

My
daughter picked the Lucky Brand Bashina
booties
: they looked really cute and the best news is she now wears the
same size as me so we can share!!
Sperry Duck Boots: I have wanted these for awhile so I knew I was
getting these as soon as I saw them in the catalog. I did have to size down to
a 7.
Frano Sarto Jolette Penny Loafer: These were a nice surprise. I thought
I wanted the Cole Haan Dellora Flat
in Pewter but they looked terrible on my foot and I found the sole very
slippery. Again the SA came through with the Penny Loafers. They were super
comfortable and they looked really good on my foot and did have nice traction
on the sole. The blue plaid is adorable. It has navy, black and gray so I should
have lots of options for it. One thing I have had trouble with in this brand is
that my feet will make a squeaky noise or as my 11 year old says “my shoes are farting”. Anyone have suggestions on how to get rid of that. I don’t think
my feet were particularly sweaty at the time.
Halogen Kick Flare Ankle pants: I knew I wanted these from the moment I
saw them in the catalog. I have 2 pairs of kick crops in denim and really love
them with my higher shaft booties and shoes. The only problem is that by 11:00
am on the first day of pre-select the petites had already sold out online so I
purchased a misses size 8, planning to stalk the website until I could find a 6
petite and lucky me I found them the next day! These fit true to size and are
machine washable!!
Halogen Raw Edge Leather Jacket: I saw this while in petites and hoped
it would look good on and I did like it and found it to be soft and very
comfortable, or so I thought at the time. I think
the fit is TTS if not a little small but would not accommodate a bulky sweater
under it but I don't plan on wearing this as outer wear. Bought it in blue but
the website calls it Teal and it is definitely not teal but when I put it on
and tried to “work” in it the sleeves were too restrictive so I returned it. In
its place I ordered the Marc by Marc
Jacobs Ink Leather jacket
… I’ll report back once it arrives..
Halogen Swing Peacoat: This jacket
doesn’t seem to get much love as I haven’t seen any in Finds but I found it to
be adorable and it’s a great color for me. I bought this in Petite, sleeves are
perfect length but I think it t runs large... I bought a petite small but could
have fit into a petite extra small but it just felt a bit snugger across the
bust when I buttoned it. I love the color and its machine washable.
Halogen Zip Back Cashmere Sweater:
Love the color and the way it fit but not too sure how great the quality is and
whether or not it will pill easily. I will probably keep it for now since I
love the color and style but may keep looking. I feel it fit is slightly large.

Halogen Long Windowpane Vest: this was definitely more of a want
than a need but I loved it from the moment I saw it in the catalog. My store
didn’t carry it in petites so it was ordered. The SA suggested I order a Petite
Medium even thought I thought I should go with a Petite Small and honestly now
that I have it I think the PS may have been perfect but all are sold out now.
It is a little heavy but should be fine in the late fall/winter months. One
thing to point out is that it is called “double breasted” but there are no
functioning buttons on this.

Kristen Blake Hooded Jacket: Angie recommended this and I love
it. Runs big but flattering on and I always love it when I can find a nice
jacket in Petites.

Halogen Pleat Detail A line skirt: I really didn’t think much of this
in the catalog but saw someone trying it on and it is very cute and unique. The uniqueness is what made me get it. I think it will look really
cute with tights and booties in the fall. I bought a size 6, which is true to
size in this brand.

Halogen Short sleeve shirt tail tee: this is a very nice tunic style
tee and it flows nicely and the fabric feels wonderful; seems higher quality
than some of Halogen’s tee’s in the past and you can’t beat the price ($19.00).

Kut from the Kloth Catherine Jeans: excellent boyfriend/girlfriend
style jeans that are a nice slim profile and perfect length for a petite. Run TTS.

Caslon Stripe Pocket top: walked by this a bunch of times
and never even caught my eye until I saw this on someone on the forum and I
thought it was cute. It is a nice boxy top. I love how it is
flowy and boxy in the body but the sleeves fit nice and snug. It does run
large so I sized down to an XS.

Caslon Plaid Shirt: this wasn't even anything I was really looking for but I have had a hard time finding a plaid shirt that I like and this one I really liked. It was super soft, oversized and an attractive plaid. It did run really big but I liked it being a bit oversized so I went ahead with a petite medium.

Zella High Waisted Leggings: the high waist is new to me and I
loved it and thought it was very flattering on and comfortable.

The One Item that I really regret not buying (it is now sold out) is the Caslon knit poncho!! It was really cute (:

I also purchased Sofft Wendy booties in Merlot that I saw on someone post this week but I found them at Shoes.com for $45.00!!

I will try
to post photos of me in the clothes next week sometime…
