I went to the pre-sale yesterday with two friends. Great fun. Though they did not have everything I had wanted to see, they certainly had a good selection and price reductions. I had been on SYC for quite some time in preparation for sale and may have gone overboard, coming home with six items, but still had to make some hard decisions along the way.
I will live with my purchases for a few days or more to make sure I am sure and that all selections are truly worthy. Here is what I picked and some of what I left behind.
1. Bobeau Cowl Neck: Cuter on than it looks here. A fun longer hem in the back. Very lightweight for hot AZ summer. Multiple colors. Sveta, I could see this on you!
2. Classiques Print Tie Neck. On my original wish list, but I ultimately left it behind. Friends lobbied for it, but it was not a 10 for me (colors, I think). Kari wears it so much better.
3. I opted for this Lafayette 148 Camilla blouse instead. Hard choice between the black, which I purchased, and the ivory. I am still considering that.
4. Classiques Lamb Moss Leather Jacket. This was another difficult decision. I love the Lamb Moss, but the Vintage Hinge jacket in Photo 5 was KILLER on, and I mean KILLER. I chose the Moss because I already have a black leather jacket, because the Moss is lighter weight (for AZ) and can be styled in a more "blazer-like" fashion. I'm apprehensive about how many things I will be able to wear it with due to unique color, and will re-evaluate when it arrives, as it is on order. It's pricey and will go back if it won't be a winter workhorse.
(Sveta, I know you don't need jackets, but either of these would be killer on you).
5. Hinge Vintage Leather. I had to make a choice. This stayed at the store. Will someone else please snap it up? It's utterly fab (especially if you need waist definition).
6. Suzi Chin Maggy Boutique Print Jersey Blouson Dress. Though several dresses were on my list, this one was not. When I tried it there was an outcry of support, and I like it, too. A tad shorter than my perfect length, but I'll wear it with black tights and cage heels. There's also a similar, non-jersey style with a different print.
7. Me Too London Pump. The three of us created a small scene in the shoe department (I spied one man chuckling and pointing) with our mountain of options, and our sales associate was delightful. See photo 10. Since I am on team heels and team sassy, how could I pass on these surprisingly comfortable heels, even though they will make me 6' 2"? Sam Edelman has a pair of high-heeled light tan loafers (with tassel) that were calling my name, but I resisted. Those are really worth a look, Team Heels, especially if you like classic with a twist style.
8. Stuart Weitzman Black Suede Kitten Heels. Like buttah -- despite the price, these were almost a no brainer because they are top quality, timeless shoes. I like to wear a lower heel when my husband and I go out, or for certain business or social situations, and kitten heels are hard to find. An investment.
9. Sam Edelman White Patent Etiene Loafer. I thought these -- but in White Patent -- would be way cool with colored denim -- but the fit was off. They had to stay behind.
I also bought some ankle-length colored denim (both cobalt and red) that may induce apoplexy in a certain small blond. These could have been an impluse purchase and do require further consideration.
Thanks for sharing the fun.
