I'm not saying I'm buying either BUT if you were choosing one for me, which one would you pick and why?

As background, I originally had a floral blazer on my spring wish list. Then I saw the green leather moto in Angie's store. Then I saw the floral moto in Angie's thread about Club Monaco..

I know which one I'm heavily leaning towards should I decide to buy but am very curious to see what you would pick for me. I'll reveal my preference later....now over to you.

I like the leather moto, but I prefer to see you in more deeply saturated colors. If it was kelly or emerald green, I think it would be more flattering for you.

I am leaning toward the floral one.

I like both jackets, but would say you should get the floral one since that was on your original wish list. The green one seems more of an impulse buy.

I'm not loving either one, either. I'm sorry! Both seem pricey for what they are: of-the-moment pieces with not a lot of longevity.

I'm no help I'm afraid, because I like both for you, Shannon. They are so different, and I could really see you getting a lot of wear out of both of them.

Also: I seem to be the odd one out here, as I really don't think a bright-coloured leather jacket in a "trendy" colour doesn't have any longevity. Agreed that this green might be quite trendy now, but any colour you love and looks flattering on you never goes out of style. At least that's how I see it. As long as the jacket fits really well, is a pretty timeless style (like a motostyle jacket), and it works with the rest of your wardrobe, I don't see no reason why you couldn't wear it for years to come?

When you said a floral jacket, I was expecting to see something colorful so I was surprised by that one. To be honest, I don't love it.

I do prefer the green one. I'm a bit curious about that shade of green. On the first model it looks deeper- more grass green- while on the bottom model it looks lighter, almost more mint.

If you were to add a leather jacket, I'm not sure that green would be my first choice for you but I do think it would be versatile and work with a lot.

#1 - I love it (depending on fit of course). I think I'd like a darker green for you too but it's a fab colour. I agree with Inge anything that suits you has longevity imo.

Well I guess poor Inge and I are alone in liking them both! I am surprised to hear so many not liking either...interesting...

FWIW, I'm completely in love with the floral moto and that one is my preference.

I prefer the leather one. The floral one is okay, but not really loving it. And I know how much color makes you happy!

It's a different style, of course, but it reminds me a little of Angie's Zara floral print blazer (which I bought as well). I love these types of photographic floral print, they are a little more abstract, and look really stunning in this black & white colour scheme.

Not looking at any responses yet - I'm going to say YOU prefer the floral moto. But I am not absolutely sold on either one by the pics alone - they seem like items I'd need to see on you and styled. I can be convinced!

I zipped past the other replies so I wouldn't be influenced.

I vote for the green. You use accessories very well to make your outfits stand out and I think the cleaner look of the green would support your style better. I also think it will have more staying power as a leather moto - even in a bright - is more classic and less trendy.

it was featured in Canadian Living this month - I know Canadian Living, not a fashion mag but a really cute spread. (I buy it for the recipes - haha!).

I like the green. I KNEW it was the floral though after your post on the club monaco display post But the green would be soooo lovely to bookend your green shoes!

I like them both for you. I'm not a fan of floral jackets, or floral in general, but I love almost anything black and white.

I've seen both irl, and had them on a body. Beautiful pieces.

FWIW, Shannon, either will work in your wardrobe. I have no doubts.

That is why I think our Shannon should have both!

In all seriousness, I agree with what Inge said about a coloured moto jacket, and I now have first-hand experience of how a bright jacket can become a wardrobe workhorse. If you love a colour and it is flattering, I say go for it.

Having said that, I sort of think one would want to try them on, and the trouble with the green one is, that's difficult! The Club MOnaco you can try and return if it does not work.

Shannon, I think you have a bright green blazer, right? If so, then I vote floral moto since the blazer could work in most outfits in place of the green moto. But, this particular floral one is not my fav. I think you'd look better in one with more color. Like these....

Dianthus, I think it may be a jacket from Spring 2012. Sorry, I was just giving some examples, should have picked current items. I can't find it except for sold out at Shopbop, but it's a Rebecca Minkoff floral blazer, maybe you'll spot it.

That was my favorite one too!

I've looked at that green moto a number of times this season online. I think those wide cuffs are a bit masculine for your style, and I am not wild about the horizontal zippers near the waist. Had they been vertical or close to vertical I would have ordered or at least searched the jacket out in a B'n'M store. The reviews also caused me a bit of hesitation.

I like the Club Monaco a bit better, but I think I would like it more for you if it were navy and white rather than black and white -- something with a bit more color or maybe the addition of a color. And this is coming from a black'n'white gal.

JMHO which is not set in stone. I could be dissuaded.

Such interesting and diverse replies - I always find this sort of feedback fascinating!

Suz makes a point which is becoming more and more important in my shopping experience - trying on an item in the store. As much as I love the green leather moto, I just had it calculated for shipping and duties (the price goes from $199 to $284) and then if it doesn't fit right, I will only get back $207. This was my experience with the navy suit.

I like the Club Monaco floral moto because I CAN actually try it on and not be out any money if it doesn't work. I also like the fact that the floral pattern is black and white - not typical of a floral IMO and that's one of the things that makes it unique.

I wish Danier Leather made petite jackets - maybe if enough of its loyal customers begged for it???

I agree with Inge and Angie in that a coloured leather jacket does not lose any style longevity because of the colour. As long as the style itself is classic, I think the colour can transcend many seasons/years as long as you pair it with current items.
