my last bit of procrastination, AKA styling the Docs

I'm DYING over the Docs with the rosy skirt Mochi - I LOVE THIS LOOK on you!!! I'm not so keen over the second look but I'm not entirely sure why - something is off to my eye.

Have I mentioned I love the Docs with the rosy skirt????!!!!

Hmm, my first reaction was that the black? skirt was too similar in style to the boots, rough and tough, so it didn't feel so great! A little too much goin on with the hat! but if that is what you are going for, then ignore me!

LOVE #1!!!

Love #2 minus the hat - to my eye it is a light, springy hat, kind of barbershop quartet-ish (cool!), that clashes with the workwear influences of the docs and the denim shirt.

The boots are definitely staying, yes???

Is that the same skirt that I dissed last week? LOL... LOVE that look!!! Not crazy about the second look. Too postman looking? IDK.
But definitely keep the boots. They look like they will assimilate nicely into your wardrobe.

Nooooooooooo, you'll have to pry it out of my cold, unmanicured fingers. I got that hat down in Soho, NYC in around 1986 at the urging of a friend, and while I never really wear it (I mean, seriously), it's Italian-made, really good quality and I'm QUITE fond of it. (I'll check your post later. And it was a complete coincidence!)

Once I left the hat accidentally on an airplane. I called the airport the next day and the friendly local airline rep affirmed: "Yes, we have your Maurice Chevalier hat."

I had no idea about the Duran Duran hat connection. Will have to check it out.

For a high school history project my daughter and her friends made a video about Prohibition. The hat appeared on some boy's head in a speakeasy scene (they were dancing the Charleston I mean, that hat may be odd, but it has some personality!

I like them bunches but was going to ask how they feel with regards to height. I can't tell - do they poke you in the back of the leg/knee when you bend? If not KEEP.

I see Angie says they look like they just make it so naturally I defer to her. They are super cute! I'm going to pick up a black pair next month (gotta budget).

Andrea, I didn't even notice the back (which is probably a good sign). I even thought there was a slight leeway of .5-75 inch. I think they fit fine, but tomorrow I will check once again. I won't post again, though, unless I have any doubts. They felt very comfortable.
