Holiday events are pretty low key  here- the biggest one being a big cocktail party I host myself ...from which I am taking a break this year.  I'll dress up a touch for a dinner out with friends on Dec 2, and again for Christmas dinner.  A celebratory drink or two with friends and buyers may crop up as well over the next month . None of this requires anything dressy or at all formal, but I still like having something new and a little out of the ordinary to wear at this time of year.

 I ordered this ink blue french terry top with a pleated silky- poly -something sleeve treatment ; it came today and ticked off all of my boxes. Excellent quality , great colour, good fit, and something different.   Because of the open neck (front and back) a special pair of earrings are in order - perhaps something with graduated hanging balls, or a fun dangling sparkly coloured stone something.  I'll pair this top with jeans and some equally crazy boots I bought this fall (metallic ink blue western style sock boots) , and my "good" (although it's so old it's almost vintage) shearling/mongolian fur black jacket.  I could be talked into a fun blue metallic bag too if I find one
