Greetings and Happy New Year to all! I had the fortuitous joy of having my regular week off during Christmas - I had from 12/24 through today (when I'm back at work) to stay home, relax, and spend time with my brother who came up for a visit. We went to our cabin for a couple of days after Christmas and spent the rest of the time eating, hiking, playing games, watching movies and laughing up a storm. Sadly, the skiing was ruined by record-breaking warm weather.

Since we did not do our annual cocktail party this year and stayed in for New Year, I didn't have a single opportunity to dress up! While this was disappointing, it made me realize that my real life just isn't that formal anymore. With this reality in mind, I am really planning to cut back on purchasing more in the coming year. I have what I need to get me through work, and I'm finding that a new pair of earrings or socks gives me the same "lift" as more expensive items. There just isn't much I need.

My husband got me these Bogs for Christmas and they have proved incredibly warm and useful. I can pull them on and the soles are grippier than regular Bogs, although I still needed crampons to hike with the icy conditions here right now. Highly recommended!

Favorite purchase of last year is a toss-up between the R2-D2 purse (which gets a compliment a day across all ages and genders) and the suede OTK boots, which opened up a whole new way to wear my shorter dresses in winter.

I'm planning to be around the forum but expect to post less WIWs as I focus more on other aspects of my life. My closet, while still not as organized or optimal as it could be, serves its purpose well, all thanks to Angie and all of you. Look forward to some catching up on posts here after a bit of a break. Lots of love to everyone!
