I love your hair as is. How about a bright or red lipstick to change things up?

Thanks all! I love having short bangs, but seeing older pics makes me miss longer/no bangs.

Alicat, I was thinking of maybe changing up my makeup. I usually do a darker eye and nude lip, but maybe a bright lip is in order!

I like it as it is now! Very different!:-) (loved your pixie, too-and that was not a not a straight one, at all:-))

I LOVE the 3rd pin that rae posted - that would be really pretty on you, but it does mean patiently growing out the front of course.

PG, Your hair is gorgeous. Serious hair envy here. I thought the same thing as Alicat to up the glam.

I really like your hair! Why not try really edgy hair accessories, like headbands or personal hair pins, and combine with earrings? That will give you more looks for your curly hair. Maybe you just want variety

How about an Ines look? There was someone before Ines too... I have to try and remember what her name was. Hair was longer on top, but still short...

You have such fabulous hair! I also like the links that Rae had, #3 in particular. The bright lipstick sounds fun too!

Team grow it longer. You have great hair. Flaunt it. Your eyes and smile are great too. Maybe try some long layers but I don't know much about curly hair. I do know having a hair stylist who understands your hair is very important. I travel 2 hours to get mine cut.

I love rae's 3rd pin too - something shorter in the back & longer in the front would give the hair structure which would be a great contrast to the curls.

Love it now, but longer would be an interesting change BUT are you also ready for a (clothing) style shift? Significant hairstyle changes can do that. . . .

Donna, I'm already in the middle if a style shift because I had to build a whole new (smaller) wardrobe starting last Sept. I'm finally starting to dress how I want to. But THAT could explain why I'm feeling so antsy about my hair!

I posted a link to my Pinterest hair board on Sunday. I'm a curly girl, but am going shorter this year, and since I edit my board regularly to keep it around 50 pins, it reflects this change. You might want to check it out for visuals, however...

How about something Sarah Jessica Parker-ish when she had shorter hair? I think it was in inverted bob. Or this shorter style worn by Jessica Simpson.

I would think a hair stylist with curly hair experience could help you with the flatness on top as it grows out; with with the cut or styling products.

Thanks, all! I asked my husband about it and he thinks I should consult with his hairdresser, who used to also do my hair years ago, pre-pixie. Next time I'm tempted to grab my scissors, I'll make an appointment with him instead. Even if I want to grow it out, which I think I do, at least the front/sides, he might be able to make it look more modern in the in-between stages.

Meanwhile, here's a try today with a bright lip, which Alicat suggested above. It definitely made me feel less blah!

What rae & Crackers said.

I finally let my hairstylist go edgier. She'd been giving me amazing asymmetric cuts, but still conservative. Or as she put it, "I hate to say it this way, but almost soccer mom." So now there's a more dramatic difference between shorter back and longer front. Have gotten lots of compliments since.

ETA: Ooops, we cross-posted. Love the lip color, and I'm definitely Team Husband's Hairdresser.

I love the lip color!

Oh boy. I thought I was all set with my plan to keep growing...and then I found Karla's Closet. Her hair is currently longer, but her older blogs posts are STUNNING.

A few things about me and pixies:
1) I've only ever had a pixie while overweight and not looking so great (hello, postpartum!).
2) I've never worn makeup while sporting a pixie; my love of makeup came later.
3) I've never been stylish with a pixie; again, style came later!
