Here is a Theory woven top in rayon-wool with bust darts, boatneck/slash neck, and 3/4 sleeves. Just have put it on with trousers, but since it is high-hip it is good for skirts and especially flared or pleated, or pants or maybe culottes where you have a bit of slightly-fitted-over-full look. I hope, that is--still need to put it through the closet wringer. I'm sorry the photo lighting isn't that good.

The backstory is that I had seen it on sale but only in one size which was too snug, and there was not another size to be found in the store. I did not go to the effort of going online or trying to get the store to hunt it down nationally, but it became for me a kind of target piece that evoked a sort of "French" (my apologies to an entire country of people!) tailored simplicity that I like, that feels like "me" even though I also have been enjoying the big sweaters and things. And so hard to get slightly structured woven items, because it requires darts or seaming and cut. A knit close cousin is a WHBM ponte peplum top I have.

I gravitated back to the same sale rack several times when at this department store, and always just the same too-small size.

Then just this week, what? The next size up had appeared.
So here I am trying it and it puts me in mind of karymk's post on the outfit that personifies, but this is more a single-item concept. Or at least one I want to explore and be one aspect, one type of silhouette.

How about you? What items do you have that you want to use as models for your style?
