I won a drawing at the recent Munro trunk show at Nordstrom, and got to pick out a free pair of shoes from the Spring/Summer catalog! I have attended these trunk shows for years. They often feature the drawing, and this is the first time I've won. I chose the Kirsten open-toed, sling-back platform sandal-bootie. I hadn't tried them on, but I had tried another style with the same last. These are super comfy right out of the box, as Munros usually are for me. I took my usual size in this brand.
Meanwhile, I had bought the Dansko Dominique t-strap sandals to fulfill the same purpose--i.e., a black sandal with a fair amount of foot coverage. I am torn about returning the Danskos, because I think they are cute. I picked them over Munro styles available, because I liked the tougher vibe of them. I doubt I'll wear both pairs of shoes enough to keep both, though, and the Munros are a bit more comfortable, with a less steep angle.
I'm considering exchanging the Danskos for the gray and brown color. I was more drawn to that version, but I was specifically looking for a black heeled sandal.
I'm pretty sure I said right here on this forum, though, that I wanted to avoid buying more sandals, because I have several pairs already, and Seattle summers are typically short (should I say historically? global warming seems to be changing the "typical").
Photos of today's outfit with both pairs of new heeled black sandals:
Slim boyfriend jeans (Citizens of Humanity, Emerson); blurry print gray, blue, taupe, and ivory surplice front top (made by me); cobalt 3/4 sleeved cardigan (Halogen); black and brown belt with mixed metal studs (Suzi Roher).
Regardless of what I do with the Danskos, I really like the Munros, and you can't beat the price!
As always, I welcome your thoughts and suggestions. If you were me, what would you do about the Danskos?
