I do think a burgundy bag would go with your winter coats nicely and also with the burgundy boots. Love the boots you linked, they could be an excellent replacement for the old ones.

Somehow I picture you with a cognac or golden brown winter capsule - boots and bag - to bookend your hair.

I also only have one pair of actual snow boots and get your reasoning - no fun to buy, not practical for indoor wear. I have other styles like riding boots, Hunters, combat boots/Timberlands, and booties instead. In fact my Merrel snowboots are from 2018 and doing fine - the sheepskin trim looks a little tired, and they have some subtle salt stains, but functionally they are fine and I haven’t seen anything cuter so I’ll probably give them another year since I have overbought in other categories. I actually do a lot of my winter walking in Timberlands, which are also wearing remarkably well.

Anyway! Enough about me! I am in your climate, I think we have similar lifestyles, and I don’t think you need more snowboots

Your footwear collection looks great. I think your choices are generally in the ‘current classics’ vein so they aren’t likely to look dated anytime soon.

Another enabler for another pair of boots! Even if you don't wear them straight away, it would be safer to keep a backup pair in case something happens to the current ones (I imagine it would be no fun to be left with NO snow boots, 'ugly' or not, in deep winter!) Not in black though, to expand your options.

As for the bag, a washed black sounds like a good idea given your current collection. But I think a burgundy might read as a 'colour' with the rest of your clothes - if that's what you want though then go for it! But I imagine it might be a little less versatile for someone who generally prefers to dress in neutrals?

How about a bag in a cool beige or tan instead? Cognac could potentially work with your hair too - make sure you bring one of your workhorse coats/ puffers with you when you shop for the bag though, to check whether the colours 'go' but also to ensure the strap extends long enough to be worn over your coat!

Lovely collection Helena! It sounds like Blondo replacements will be in order.

In terms of a bag I really like bags with two colours eg black and beige - they are so so versatile!!

I don't wear my shoes out that fast - I think because I usually wear my Asics running shoes for walking, and my other shoes are mostly for work. When I did the walking school bus or commuted on foot it was very different.

You have a great collection of footwear! I say yes to a burgundy bag…..maybe the trendy oxblood color would work for you. A-hem…. If you don’t love winter boots, I gently suggest that you haven’t found the right pair. When replacing your favorite black boots, it might be fun to go with a different color. I’m thinking gray or olive would be good choices. Just sharing my 2 cents!
