Hey Ya'll!
I'm new to the forum but have been lurking for a month or so. I have recently lost almost 50 lbs (yay me!) and have found myself in need of almost an entirely new wardrobe. When I was heavier I was always dressing to hide things, so this is a new experience for me. It's been fun and I've gotten a lot of good ideas about building the right wardrobe from the blog and also the forum.

So I'm a little nervous about posting, but finally decided to take the plunge and hope I fit in here in this community.. I work in media/events and have my biggest event of the year coming up in 2 weeks. It will be the first time most of my friends and clients have seen me since my weight loss and I really want to look good. (vanity?) So this week and next I'm having my own little "dress rehearsal" on what I will wear the week of the event. I'm taking new outfits and pairings for a test drive and want to get opinions & suggestions from you guys.

1 - Monday I was trying to incorporate some an old piece into my new finds. I bought this black pencil skirt that I love and paired it with a oatmeal colored cashmere sweater and an Eileen Fisher jacket that I have worn many times.
2 - My sister says (lovingly) that I need to stop wearing big drapey jackets since I have lost weight. She encouraged me to take the jacket off and see how I felt without it. I'm not sure how I felt.
3 - We've had a long cold winter here in the midsouth, so I decided to break out this pair of Joe Fresh polka dot pants. i love the color. And the jacket is new and a little more fitted.
4 - I took a photo without the jacket. Sister again.
5 - Today I'm wearing a brand new red blazer that I really love. In spite of the fact that this little exercise makes me realize I really, really need a haircut before my event, I like this look. Although one of my boys (teenager) sweetly pointed out to me this morning that I had forgotten to tuck in half my shirt. I love this jacket so much that it seems pointless to take a photo without it.

I would love our thoughts on the jacket/no jacket question. And any other suggestions. I am redefining my style so I feel like a blank canvas. As I mentioned, I've been doing a lot of research here about how to do start a new wardrobe the right way. Ya'll let me know if I haven't dome something the right way in terms of forum etiquette. I haven't commented before because I feel like ya'll know so much more than I do. But I really want to be a productive member of this group!
