my first spring purchase and a ?

This jacket just arrived yesterday. TJMaxx 100% silk on the clearance. Keeping to my resolution not to buy anything just because it fits, is on sale, good deal, and I like it, it has to fit into my wardrobe, be on my list of things I need, etc. So I kept it in my box for three days and then decided I really needed to order. Am styling it with my wider leg black pants, or the grey straight leg with heels, the silky track pants with either heels or pointy toe flats. With these I have a grey jersey dressier looking t , and a fine gage knit white sweater. also looks great with my LBD, and maybe my purple dress. Now my ? is would this also work with a white silky type fabric button down? --or any type button down?

I'm thinking "why not?" but you might want to experiment with style variations to get the look you want. Too much collar, or fullness in the front could overwhelm the jacket, especially if it's silk. And might be best tucked in?

I'm not sure about the question - but I like your resolution I have a similar and the jacket is beautiful.

I would try it with something that brings attention to the neck/face since the lapel and the points slide the faze down to the widest part of the hip (which might be no problem for you; being hippy myself, I'm always on the watch out for those things ) a button down may work if it is silky.

I don't see why this couldn't work with a lovely button down blouse. Give it a go.
