I tried on this Lauren Moshi starburst hoodie at a local boutique back when such a thing was possible, and I left it behind because it's pricey for a hoodie. But I love the colorful zipper (see pic of detail that I took in store), and it was cozy yet lightweight (I can't do heavy hoodies anymore -- I overheat). I also like that it's made in the USA (in LA).
It stuck in my mind, since we are now in a hoodie-wearing era, and my current ones are mostly radio station freebies and are looking a bit worse for the wear. I poked around and found it online at another retailer, but decided to send an email to the boutique where I first saw it to see if they still had it and I could order it from them to support a local business. Not only did the shop manager get back to me immediately, but she offered to price match, since the other store was offering a 15% coupon code. She's going to drop it off in my mailbox tomorrow.
This is a happy coincidence of a need meeting a want, and being able to support a local business while still getting a discount. I haven't purchased anything for my wardrobe in over 7 weeks, but I feel good about this purchase.
