Okay, So a few weeks ago I broke my ankle. Luckily, it was a clean and simple break and I didn't need any hardware or surgery. What I did need is a big ugly cast. The first few weeks I was getting away with wrapping it up in scarves, but I just went to the doctor today and now I have an even bigger, uglier black walking cast-boot thing. The upside is that I can (sort of) walk now. The downside is, of course, that my wardrobe options are incredibly limited.

Pants, especially skinnies are right out.
Anything approaching stylish shoes are out (I can only wear one anyway)
I can get some clamdiggers and walk shorts on.
I can not yet carry a bag.

Am I stuck in gear and loungewear for the next three weeks? Any ideas to look stylish despite? Thanks in advance!

(By the way, a further argument for wearing a pashmina when you travel: we were on our way to the airport in San Francisco when I fell and broke it, and the nurse who stopped to help me out was able to wrap the ankle in my scarf to keep it stable and immobile until we could get to the hospital back home in New York!)
