Hey ladies! It's been ages since I've posted here, hasn't it? We'll I've been reading all of Angie's posts but being a mom has me on my toes all day! Home you're all doing good...I've missed YLF and you all!

Anyway I'm here for a bit of advice as always! I have a gift voucher to get a handbag and I've zeroed in on the Marc by Marc Jacobs Natasha bag. I'm only a bit torn between two colours - classic black or the light grey 'warm zinc'.

I wear a lot of colourful clothes all year, so I'm wondering if black will be a bit harsh, especially in summer. On the other hand, is warm zinc too light? Whatnwould be a better investment? Help please!

Wow congrats Kirti! Your son Krishna is adorable! What a gorgeous smile! Hope things are going well for you and the baby!
Pretty bag too. In your case I feel like the grey would work better with your love of bright colors. Black is always classic, but I tend to wear a lot of black and white (as well as colors!) so I don't mind the darker color. You can't go wrong with either though!

I like the bags you chose and I prefer black, both as a choice in general and as a bag for you. I think it's more versatile and since you're dark haired you shouldn't worry about it looking off on you.

I vote for zinc. It looks versatile. Black may look harsh for summer.

I would buy the black. When I invest in a bag, I prefer darker colors, light colors get dirty and it's difficult to clean the leather.

Your son is adorable. The gray is beautiful but as others have said it may not be very practical. Black looks great with dark hair and never looks dated. It improves with time. I tend to go with darker colours when I buy bags. My lighter coloured bags look a mess after awhile.

Both colors are nice choices. In the past, I would feel more inclined to splurge on black, thinking it would get the most wear. Having had a medium gray bag and worn it out in a couple of years, I have to say, you might be better ff with gray, especially given your love of colors. It goes with just about everything and adds a subtle contrast to black outfits. Either way you can't go wrong.

Yay - we'll be bag twins! I have the Natasha bag and love the size and versatility. Mine is greyish - I think the colour is called taupe. I don't know if the one you are spotting is lighter but I find this colour very versatile. I use it all year round and it doesn't get dirty (or at least you can't see it ;-)) Ornella has a point though with black bag and black hair. You can't go wrong with one or the other.

I love the grey but think black may be the better investment: it is timeless and will definitely go with all your bright colors.
However .... I just chose a citron Kate Spade bag (the "fun" choice) over a white summer bag (the "smart" choice).
I don't at all regret the citron, although it will not have the longevity of a white bag. (I did get it on sale.)
I think you really can't go wrong with either choice. Choose the color that makes you the most happy since it is a big purchase and you will want to feel great every time you pick it up to use it.

Have you seen the zinc in person ? If not then I'd say get the black. Grey tones are not always true in photographs and this might be more taupe than you would like,

I love the bag in both colours, and it depends on your needs, I think, as to which is better. The black might hold up better, but isn't worth the price if you feel you wouldn't reach for it as much because you prefer lighter colours. It seems you have a clear preference for the zinc, so I think that's what you should go with. You should always adore a new bag and not overthink it. And your son is just beautiful!

I love the Natasha bag, and I might get one one of these days too... I would vote for black because I think it'll be more versatile. IIRC you like bright, saturated colors so the black should go with most of them, and you have black hair to bookend the bag all the time anyway.

Both are versatile colors. The black is the safer bet but it's not like the zinc is so color-of-the-moment that you'll cringe when you see it in your closet next year.

Personally, I'd get the zinc, but I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

Kirti, it's great to hear from you. Your son is a beautiful little boy! Congratulations. I'm leaning towards black for you, because of your dark hair, although the zinc would be fine too. If you have a gut reaction to one color more than the other, that's the one you should choose.

Adorable baby!! It's hard to look at the bag when there's a baby, too!!

I'm not sure how to advise, as I avoid black bags for myself. I find them a little too boring for me, but I only wear/carry one bag all fall/winter and then a different bag spring/summer. I want something that will stand out against my outfit. If I only have one bag, I don't want it to be black. Though I just realized most people would probably say the opposite!

I have a black and and a grey bag - I find that both get a lot of wear because they are neutral and both colors seem to hide dirt pretty well.

This is a toughie. I like both and don't think you can go wrong either way. I think I would lean just a bit toward the black for all the reasons already mentioned. If you go for the grey, see if you can get the absolute truest idea of the grey tone -- greys vary so much between warm and cool, and it can throw you off. I have a couple of grey bags and they definitely read as different colors and can kind of clash with other greys. If you don't wear grey clothing, it actually may make it easier to carry a grey bag!

I vote for the black. It might not be quite as great for summer, but I think it will look great with your hair, and work better long term.

When it comes to the bag, I think if you're only going to get one, the black will have a longer longevity (haha) and if there are blemishes further down the road, it's a lot easier to dye black vs. grey.

The grey is very pretty, though!
