Thank you everyone for your positive comments. I've never bought a coat anywhere near that expensive, so I had a bit of fear that I'd made the wrong decision and should have gone with the more traditional (roomier) fit. Burberry needs to make trenches in petite sizing so us short people don't drown in the coats.
Donna F - Your suggestion made me laugh, but I'm pretty sure you are correct.
Firecracker and Angie - The coat is black, but it's a cotton sateen so it has a bit of a sheen to it.
Style Fan and Bijou - I'm glad to hear your Burberry trenches are still getting worn after a decade. Did you have to find a special (high end?) dry cleaner for your coats?
