That is stunning, and it helps that it looks that every piece is of excellent quality and carefully chosen.

Since I like variety I would be bored with this only, so my personal aspiration is to have a collection like this as wardrobe base and then add various other items on top of it. I don't think my base is going to happen either, si,ply because I get too distracted with these other items.

I admire this look on others, but I'd be so sad if this was my wardrobe! lol Definitely not a minimalist or modern classic at heart.

This is visually striking and I love the simplicity of her layout! I think along the same lines as Tanya, this is a beautiful base wardrobe... But I would get fidgety and impatient and want to add things.

I admire, aspire to, can't get enough of the minimist aesthetic... vicariously. More and more, I am finding it is just beyond my ability to pare down to this sort of simple wardrobe. I have mostly made peace with that though, because I am still purging and starting to see a cohesive concept that I am thrilled with.

But I still have too much stuff. LOL

Personally, I would really miss my brights, pretty stuff, and enjoying trends. Good on paper, but not good for my own style persona.

It IS a way to create ONE capsule though.

What I love about this kind of base is that when you add something interesting - like a color or furry texture or sculptural jewelry - it really blows out.

Nice round up of basics from which to build, but yeah, mixed as pictured would put me right to sleep by week 1.
And funny enough, I see undue repetition in so many black shoes and bottoms, for example, when there could be red flats, olive pants etc, and it would still all work together but just be more interesting. Horses for courses, right?

I admire the discipline here. This might be great for my work capsule. If I didn't need to wash head-to-toe it could work. I pinned a few of her ensembles as inspiration. Thanks IK.

So this is what I'm aiming for in my work capsule. It doesn't need to be fun - it needs to be functional and easy to put together. I do not do white shirts, so something else would have to substitute. Great inspo and already in my colors! I do leave a lot more room for the shoes, though.

Agree, AG, I would rapidly go zonkers without cool shoes. Also, I love these things that show what you can do with a SINGLE COOL SHIRT! Dude, I sweat. I need a clean shirt every day!

So yeah, it's a guideline, and I love it for what it does, and will fill it for where it doesn't.

I just read the post & she has more than this too - special pieces & extra tops, knits etc.

IK - I love this!! I would need to modify pieces and I'd need a bigger boot/bootie/blazer/belt/outerwear collection but the concept is exactly what I am striving for. Thanks!! Much food for thought!

Visually... I am in heaven:) I definitely aspire to this. I don't need colour;) and I adore the simplicity. So far I haven't found a white shirt that works for me, but I am open to keep looking:) And the stripes would have to be substituted out. Just looking at the visual makes be feel stylish and serene Thanks IK, I wasn't aware of this blog so saving as a fave

IK, I really think you outdo her. Your footwear is always way more interesting, and your tops and bottoms have more unique cuts and textures. But maybe you want more BASIC? And I didn't catch any Liberty prints. <gr>
