I feel that the base on my wardrobe I very good now. I aimed over the past couple of years to have staples to mix and match with statement pieces. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. I am largely set on tops and sweaters, and dresses and skirts.

Now I am feeling the current fall silhouettes in pants/jeans (especially wide crops, but also botocuts), and also wanting to build up my blazer capsule, after careful thought. I'd also like a more refined higher shaft bootie to go under the crops, which has long been a HEWI for me I can't wear any heel that's very high (and for the past year-plus couldn't wear anything but extremely comfortable boots). I have my eye on the J Crew ones Angie recommended, and on these Sartos and Blondos below. I've had my eye on some Born cowboy boots too (not shown)... but hoo boy do I not need lots more boots, so I am trying to be good.

As for toppers, I have the 1.State Window Pane Plaid and the more casual LOFT boucle topper (to replace one that got too tight in the arms; this is more like a cardigan). I've ordered the Boden cord Blazer (Ihave this BR knit top that should go nicely.) and the 1.State contrast panel plaid. The latter might be nice with my navy jumpsuit. We will see how I feel after receiving these two items.

For jeans/pants, I have the two Madewell pants, the navy bootcuts from Kut (need hemming), and the LOFT black ones. I ordered the BR ones, as red pants are a HEWI for me (never found any I liked on me). However, it's a longshot because BR pants don't fit me well generally, and the size up was not available to order. The J Crew jeans aren't probably a large need now that I have the Madewell ones, as the vibe is similar. I feel set in this area now, the success or failure of the BR pants notwithstanding. ETA - forgot these rust jeans from LOFT, mainly because I got them in early summer, but they're totally fall appropriate.

My recent WIW's include some of these items and something of the vibe, though it's not quite boot season here yet. They also show the two pairs of Madewell jeans, and the LOFT boucle topper.
