Anne, you mentioned in an earlier thread that you were thinking of purchasing only a set number of items this year. So with that in mind, here are my thoughts, for whatever they are worth.
IMO, the cardigan is a statement piece that should fit perfectly, reflect your style, and provide that "happiness" factor every time you put it on. If it does all of that, even if it didn't work well with other pieces in your wardrobe, it would be a keeper. If it doesn't meet those criteria, maybe consider returning it and saving your $$ for something else.
The tunic looks great belted, but, as others have noted, a bit long when worn loose. I'd give it Angie's Item-Outfit-Capsule test. If the tunic passes, it could be that "lift" item that perks up your summer wardrobe. If it doesn't pass Angie's test, then maybe use Jayne's "happiness" factor to see if it's worthy of your wardrobe.
But bear in mind that these days I'm trying to set a VERY high standard for all my purchases. Your feelings could be quite different, so, in that case, ignore me.
