I went to Dillard's on Saturday, not really looking for anything in particular. I tried on quite a few pieces from EF. None of the new things were 'have to have' for me. I liked a pair of cream jean-style pants but they were ankle length and I prefer full length.
There were a pretty good selection of sale items- some at 40% off and some at 65% off.
I found a black jacket in a sort of tuxedo style in tropical suiting which is an "eco poly" fabric that feels very nice. I thought it would be a good upgrade to the black blazer I wore frequently last fall. Then I realized that there were matching pants that would make a beautiful suit. Alas, the medium were too small and the XL too big. They had every size except the large. But I did get the jacket- at 65% off. Yesterday I found the pants in L on the EF site, also on sale. I am so hoping they fit well. If so, I will have gotten a very nice suit for right around $200.
I also got a pair of goldish/black (hard to describe) velveteen jean style pants. I love them. I immediately pictured them working with several black tops for winter. They are one of those things where you immediately say, yes this is me and I love them! They were marked down to $150. But when the SA rang them up they actually cam down to $100, so they were also 65% off.
This is the kind of deal that thrills me because they are things that I would have wanted even at full price. I've really learned to avoid buying stuff, like at Marshall's, where it's something that I like well enough but buy it more because it's inexpensive and it might be nice to have for variety. Those I usually end up wearing once or twice before getting rid of them. These that I bought are pieces that I love, great quality, and from a brand that has proven to be a good one for me.
