Do you think its weird if i'm the one who is different from everyone, even my dress matches more to the situation?

One of my style goals IS to be different from everyone AND appropriately dressed. So I see this as a style achievement not a weirdness. Good job!

You know, that’s a deep question really. Speaks to one’s social role. On the one hand, yes, it makes you the odd person out. On the other hand, you perhaps know a little more. I always fall back on the Rules of Being A Lady, in such situations: ignore your own discomfort and ensure others feel comfortable as they are.

Nope! Better to be different and authentic than wear something you don't feel psychologically comfortable in.

Hmm. Interesting question.

Sometimes there is discomfort/pushback if what seems appropriate is dressier than what others are wearing -- sort of a "Oh, you think you're better than us" thing.

If what seems appropriate is more casual than what others are wearing, it might be read as disrespectful.

Which direction do you generally find yourself in?

I think it will make you stand out in a sea of nothingness. Be you!

Anytime I see one of those lists of "must have" clothing (Keds, classic trench, Breton stripes, LBD, etc.) I marvel at how I have NONE of those in my wardrobe & can't imagine ever needing them.
