My dream sneaker: Ash Genial

I have been on the hunt, no a QUEST, to find a sneaker that suits my style sensibilities, but so far I just haven't hit that sweet spot.

Cons are too chunkalunka for me. My suede Isabel Marantish copies (Steve Madden) just look even more chunkalunka and stupid on me. My trimline Jack Purcell ish white sneaks look too preppy. My Nike Frees look too "techie".

I saw these and about gasped. Soft, patinated metallic with soft gold hardware. A small wedge (is this a dream?) I can't get enough metallic footwear--it seems to be my "neutral" in accessories.

What do you think from what you have seen of my style?

rae I though of you when I pulled the trigger...I Iwas going to pm you cuz I was so excited...

I know I am sort of between a 38 and 39, so I ordered down to the 38. I've tried them on before In the taupe with silver buckles so I know how they fit.

I first saw these in France a few years back and loved them then. But when I saw the metal and gold hardware I knew I had to try again...

How do they fit you?

I have Madden sneaks, but hi tops, not wedge. I searched for a while, too, for 'my' sneaker. I hope this hits the perfect note for you!

Mo you want my Maddens? what size do you wear? Mine are 71/2 or 8 I believe. I normally wear and 8 and these are comfortable. They are grey suede hightops with a wedge.

Thanks, mine are taupe hi tops, so it might be too much of a duplication? Mine are the Twynkle (7.5)

I have these too! In prune. Great heel height and so much fun to wear. The toes run narrow if you have wide feet. Get them - you won't regret it.

Mo, here are mine: higher than yours, grey, studless.Worn outside once.They are 7.5s. They are actually not as clumpy as I thought, the toe is narrower than say, cons. If you want 'em I will send them your way.

The Ash Genials were on my top picks list last year, Karen. I have a few very happy clients in those. Great sneaker. Personally, I found the style too detailed for my style - too many buckles - but with an insole, they were comfy. (Hence the simpler Converse Hi-Ness was the wedge sneaker for me).

I have a 39 and wear them barefoot or with a very thin running sock. If I could go back in time, I'd get the 40, though, for more sock options. I am usually a size 9 in women's shoes with a round toe, occasionally 8.5.
