I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my Dad a few years ago, and my Mom a couple of years later. I miss them both, and think of them often. It is comforting to know they're in a better place and no longer suffering, though. I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. God bless!

Your dad reminds me of my dad. My family is also Catholic. I think - it's a little bit funny - that Catholic dads have a certain look about them. I don't mean the Silent St. Joseph one. I mean the "robust but kinda ol' softie" one. Anyways, I remember when my dad died. My best friend disagrees with me about a good death, but I felt he died a good death.

I only just read this, Jean-( I am so terribly sorry for your loss. I know your Dad had become more frail during the past year, but we never really are fully prepared for this, are we. And having to say goodbye is more difficult than any words can describe. I wish you lots of strength for the funeral and wake and the days and months to come, and I will be thinking of you.
