My last post was a review of my yearly purchases. I also started my YLF blog. For the last 4 or 5 years I have been organizing my wardrobe. This included journaling about my outfits and my packing for long trips. I am trying to become an organized emotional shopper.
This post is about my colour palette. Some my favourite things to play with in fashion are colour, geometry (okay that is not a fashion term but I don't know the fashion term) and texture.
I have always loved autumn colours. As a child my favourite colour was terracotta (the colour of flower pots). Olive green has always been a big player in my wardrobe. When I had my colours done I was a Warm Autumn (I think that is also a True Autumn in some systems) but no matter what the results were I would still wear autumn colours. Pic #1, 2, 3, 4.
Until recently most of my wardrobe was Warm Chocolate Brown, Olive Green, Cognac, Golden Yellow, Burnt Orange or Pumpkin, Camel and Cream. I do occasionally wear chartreuse and a tiny bit of black.
This past year I decided to add burgundy to my wardrobe. I have added a T shirt, sweater, jeans and boots. These items are either burgundy or a warm eggplant. Pic #5, 6, 7, 8.
I was a bit anxious about the new to me colour but I am very happy with the results. The new colour blends right in with my other items and my wardrobe has taken on a new life with these 4 items. Yeah!
