One of the great things about living alone is you can start a big project at 8:30 on a work night without bothering anybody!

When I moved into the Bachelorette Pad I was pleased to discover that my closet was big enough for my whole wardrobe. But the upper hanging rod was a little too big to reach comfortably, and in the chaos of moving I never really got everything arranged properly. Over the past three months it's been getting less and less organized, and last night I finally decided to take it in hand. I procured a little step-stool last weekend so I can finally easily reach the things on top, and that really helped.

I put the skirts and jackets on top because they are easy to see, plus they are short enough for me to see what's on the shelves below them. I put blouses and cardigans on the bottom because it's easier for me to go through them if I can reach them easily. Dresses and pants are on the side, with my laundry basket below them.

You can't really see it very well, but my shoes are on a shoe rack hanging on the outside of the closet door. (Left side of the first pic.)

I'm so happy with how it turned out! I think my skirts and blazers look like a rainbow! (My cardigans do, too, but they're behind the door on the bottom so you can't really see them!) And I'm really pleased to have my tops more easily accessible -- I found a couple of things that had gotten lost in the shuffle and wore one today.

Most of my purses are hanging on the backs of various doors elsewhere, but the rest of them found a home on the shelf in the closet, which is working nicely. My boots are on the shelf above the dresses and pants, at least for now. Maybe when the weather cools off I will put them someplace more easily accessible.

And finally, I weeded out a few things that just didn't make the cut. It's nice to have the extra space.

Anybody else want to share closet pics?
