Save cluttering up April's thread I thought I'd start a new one. I have a wardrobe with a single door section where I store coats, jackets http://i594.photobucket.com/al.....LF/007.jpg and knee high boots http://i594.photobucket.com/al.....LF/008.jpg

I have hangers on the back of the door scarves hang on the left and belts and long necklaces on the right http://i594.photobucket.com/al.....LF/006.jpg

and a double door section for all other clothes and shoes http://i594.photobucket.com/al.....LF/003.jpg shoes are in clear plastic boxes http://i594.photobucket.com/al.....LF/004.jpg

Necklaces are on a mini mannequin earrings in a earring caddy bangles in an old choc box under the earrings and everything else in the jewellery box http://i594.photobucket.com/al.....LF/005.jpg

Handbags are stuffed in large clear plastic boxes http://i594.photobucket.com/al.....LF/009.jpg not a good solution as inevietablly stuff gets dumped on top of the boxes making them difficult to open x

I really like your jewellery section. My jewellery is always a mess and I can't find anything.

Itari I sometimes wish the jewellery was a bit more streamlined I have bits all over the place and forget what i've got!

I also love your shoe storage because you can see through the boxes and the shoes are not scattered over the closet floor. Mine are still in their original boxes and I forget what I have.
I can see I need to do a lot of organizing. With just 2 of us in the house I need to make use of the space.

Shoes in clear boxes is great- I have one of those hanging things from IKEA but I do sometimes have to pull things out to see what they are.

I love seeing everyone's closets! I'm afraid mine isn't so pretty. I'm organized, but our flat is VERY short on storage- so the two bedroom closets have to store clothes, coats, luggage, vacuum cleaner, and anything else that needs to be out of the way. I guess it's good because it helps me keep my clothing collection at a minimum

But Louise, of course you can "clutter up" the closet thread -- that's the idea! But thank for posting your pictures. I am really enjoying seeing people's systems.

A question, Louise -- I am a fan of "one-motion storage," or being able to reach in and get something without any steps in between. (This is also known as "laziness.") I think if I had my shoes in boxes with lids, I would keep wearing the same pair rather than making the effort to open the boxes and then put them back. Pathetic, I know.

Did you find it easy to discipline yourself to using the boxes? I must admit, I love how it looks.

April I'm OK getting them out it's putting them away that's the problem had I have taken piccies last night there would have been 6 empty boxes as I had taken the shoes off and left them on the floor!!!!! I have more problems with handbags I have your exact problem there, I have many bags but can't be bothered to change it as it's such a hassle getting them out.
San it sounds like you could have my ideal closet, a walk in wardrobe made from a whole bedroom! x

Oh thanks for the pics! I also like to use the clear boxes for my shoes if the original shoe box does not have a illustration of the shoe style on the side label.

Maybe for the handbags, you could sort by similar color in each box? Would that make you want to take the time to change your bag?

Interesting idea AJ. I really need to stop dumping junk on the topmost box. I find it too much hassle to move all the stuff before I can get to the boxes it's a real junk hotspot being the 1st surface when I walk through the bedroom door x
