I was so "in" for the Picasso challenge! And then, I completely forgot by Monday I have to dress for it. Still, I wanted to keep my word, so I'll give them to you straight!
It was Tuesday afternoon (oh so late!) already when I saw first of other's "Charnel" and "Reading on the beach" outfits so what had a girl to do to save her honour? I just "called" my first 2 outfits "picasso inspired" without knowing I actually dressed for them:-).
1-3. My Charnel House was rather dressed in the dark:-(. The outfit is a few years old FFBO but with denim skirt and cut out on the ankles booties updated this spring. I do have a more curent, longer length, sleek cardi-but guess THIS IS THE PRICE one pays for not ruthlessy getting rid of the oldies but goodies:-). In my silly morning hurry just grabbed the older one and totally forgot about the new, did this happen to you?EEEk:-)
4-6. Tuesday. Still no ideea about the challenge, but dressed all navy-so just called it my "reading at the beach". (not up to Shevia's rendition, I know- but actually couldn't believe my fortune dressing this, so I could still participate:-)) Scarf was only outdoors, with the same white coat.
7-11. On wednesday I wanted to give all my talent and creativity, but only got what I had in my closet, a coral cord pencil, a white floral mesh short sleeve, and a very boring navy jersey blazer, tan sheers and grey studded pumps. I had this outfit in my mind, but couldn't make myself wearing all these colors together as felt too preppy for my day so I eventually went with the grey blazer in nr.9-10. (posted it as I wanted to keep things real, pls. see others below, too:-)).
Then I awfully failed-- and cheated...Next 2 outfits were actually not worn to work- only put together for some further occasions-but loved to do that!:-)
12-13. I frst thought the background for the Acrobats is navy blue. Soonly Aliona enlightened us it was purple-so, it was harder than I thought. My only purples at the moment is this knitted dress. Put on a suede cascade cardi and some tan pumps. Oh, forgot once again, I would have had suede platform wedges in the same color with the dress-as purchased especially for it---oh well, getting older is innevitable, I see:-).
14-19. Last outfit is the one I have had most fun with it. I bet Angie was also not knowing she dresses for The Dream when posted her brilliant sea foam, white and striking blue outfit!
I never did an all white but I actually loved it dearly how it came out. What strucked me from "Le réve" was the alll white transparency, the very different half- and- half beads (did you notice they are half red and half yellow on the pictie?) and isn't she looking like holding a turquoise clutch in her dream:-). I have the exact beads, mind you:-), but would have worn the outfit without them only and appart that the clutch is a folded bag and I bought it as a gift for my best friend-SO NOT MINE). Never mind, I have coral lips and some turquoise on my specs, too:-) and I wear some tan patent 1 inch blocked heels to all these.
20. Is for those who managed to read so far:-)
Thanx Angie for the challenge and all the YLF members for posting all those the mind blowing outfits, it was a blast to keep up with them. Greg really has to make a special button on the wall for these "challenged threads" of us accumulated over the years!
