I keep seeing how others look so spiffy and neat in their at-home clothes. Here's my typical summer at-home uniform:
White top - cotton t-shirt or long sleeve linen, depending on the weather, sun, bugs, etc.
Lee Khaki shorts - these are the BEST gardening shorts EVER. Cool, with a bit of stretch. I've spilled all kinds of gunk on them and it's all washed out. They have roll-up tabs for very hot weather. I think they were sold as golfing shorts, but I don't golf.
Rubber boots or clogs, depending on the weather, mud, etc.
Sometimes a hat, jacket. Gardening gloves.

We have a nice sized lot with a very large garden. We grow all kinds of veggies, blueberries, raspberries, plums, peaches, blackberries, pears, apples...I may have forgotten something...oh, I have a cold frame for winter gardening too that's all herbs in the summer. It's all organic. Since I'm mostly unemployed right now, I've taken over the garden for the most part. Hubby still does the big stuff (like tilling, yuk).

I also like to can things like tomatoes, pickles (did a bunch of jars this week), jams, etc. And freeze, and cook.

There are times of the year when I can look presentable when I have to answer the door, but for summer, this is pretty much it. I throw on other clothes when I go out to run errands and such.
