My son is a teen-ager. He doesn’t like to be noticed, but he likes very soft things, including clothes that are soft on the inside. He generally insists on wearing Lands End khaki school shorts to high school. We have enough for every day of the week. Recently it’s been so chilly he’s agreed to long pants, but we are having a hard time finding some he likes.
When he was little, he loved his flannel and flannel-lined pants. Those won’t work now, because I can’t find any that are just flannel, and flannel-lined pants are too warm and might look “weird” (read “distinctive in any way). Same with linen; he thought they were “like wearing pajamas!” in the summer, but when I suggest he put them on for school, he gives me death stares.
Jeans are too stiff and uncomfortable. Sweats are soft but rumpley, especially with a sweatshirt. Corduroy is soft on the outside, but not against your skin. What young men’s pants are as soft as sweats and look as nice as jeans, without looking distinctive in any way?
