Dear all,
Thank you again for making my birthday very special with all your lovely greetings. I'm both humbled and grateful for every word. A special thanks to you, Angie, for your overwhelming and heartwarming birthday greeting - you made me feel very much appreciated. Be assured that the appreciation is returned.
I've already written about my day in Angie's thread, but here is what I did:
"My day started with coffee and gifts in bed, then a lovely breakfast before Little Sister and I went downtown for some shopping and lunch and a stroll at the "book festival" that's happening here right now. Later we've had Thai beef salad and Norwegian apple cake, made by DH and Little Sister. Middle Sister had to work today but came home for dinner, and Big Sister is not here now. She sent a gift and we spoke on the phone. I missed her particularly much today, so that was lovely. Finally I saw an Italian movie at home with my family, La vita e bella.
I received the most wonderful gifts: A new parka from DH and the brown boots I was interested in from my mother. Big Sister sent me John Irving's latest novel, and Middle Sister gave me the latest novel by my favorite Norwegian author. Both were on my wishlist. Little Sister, the sartorial genious, gave me trackpants for lounging, exactly what I need! I am very blessed."
Some of you asked what I wore on my birthday: A Modern Classic Casual Fall outfit, of course! Breton, trench, blue straight jeans, White Chucks. Very appropriate for the occasion and the weather that day.
#1: The novels from Big Sister and Middle Sister, and the fab track pants from Little Sister. I've been needing new lounge wear and reading material for a while, but no more! My girls know me so well
#2: New cognac boots and new olive parka. The boots, a gift from my Mum, will make both skirts and dresses more wearable during fall/winter, but also my jeans, because both the white, red and blue ones are easy to tuck into them. I needed more winter footwear for the red and white ones, so this is great. My dear partner gave me this gorgeous parka from Gant. I haven't had a good casual fall/winter jacket for years, so I am very grateful. It is lined with faux fur in the hood, so no more cold ears while waiting for the bus from now on.
Thank you for reading! Have a wonderful week
