...were shoes!
I have always been a practical footwear kind of gal. Apart from a brief flirtation with sky high heels, I tended to stick to flat shoes because of my wide feet and on-the-go lifestyle (esp with 2 kids under 4.)
Enter J Crew's Dolce kitten heels. At a very reasonable 1.5" heel height and a wide width that accommodates me feet, these shoes let me indulge my dream of fun shoes while not losing my need for comfort. I've also always loved the look of a classic low-vamp pointed pump. Safe to say I went a little crazy
But I am so excited to be able to accent my outfits with a myriad of colours and patterns in my footwear! It has definitely refreshed my style this year.
In addition to the heels, I invested in a number of boots (since I only wear my heels indoors, during work, to preserve them):
- Sorel's Joan of Arctics
- Sorel's Cate the Greats
- Manitobah mukluks (by far the warmest, lightest, most comfortable winter boots I have ever owned - they make winter so much better!) http://store.manitobah.com/col.....short-wrap
- Max Mara cognac tall boots
Phew! Quite a few refreshes to my shoe and boot capsule, but ones I am happy with. But for 2016, I have been doing a lot of reflection and I have resolved to buy less clothes until I understand my style direction better (more on that in another post.)
What have been your best purchases this year? Please share - I really do love hearing about other people's purchases and what they found the most useful/valuable to their wardrobe.
