Yesterday afternoonn I went through my closet trying to fit my clothing items into the list Suz spoke about in this post, http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....tials-list.
First, I printed out their recomendations:
1. 4 Sweaters - 2 workworthy, 2 for weekends
2. 7 tees - short sleeve, long sleeve, tank and turtle
3. 4 coats and jackets - 1 dress coat, 1 sporty outerwear, 1 trench, 1 day-to-night
4. 4 pants, 4 skirts equaling 8 bottoms - 2 office/evening and 2 informal
5. 2 tops for every pant and skirt - 1 dressy top and 1 casual for every pant and skirt, equaling 16 tops
6. 1 suit - 1 for every season that you can wear together or as separates
7. 5 dresses - 2 daydresses, 1 cocktail, 1 formal, and one “special knock-em dead frock”
8. 4 jeans - 1 slim cut, 1 relaxed, 1 ankle length for flats, and 1 longer length for higher heels

There are 56 pieces in this list. The four suits I broke down into 8 pieces. This seemed doable so the next step was tackling my closet. I shoved everything into the corner section and left two sections free (double rods in both sections) The pics are these sections finished.

My adjustment to the above list went like this. I do not own a dress (I purged them all after posting last month) but I have a Tadashi shirt that I love and wear for dressy occasions. So 4 dresses = 8 pieces in my book. I also do not have any suits so this gave me an additional 8 pieces to work into other catagories. I am also able to mix and match my work clothes with my casual pieses. Here is my list that I will be working from for the next three months. (totally arbitrary as I just decided this as I am typing)

1. 9 Sweaters - 5 pullovers, 4 cardigans
2. 8 tees - short sleeve, long sleeve
3. 9 coats and jackets - 1 short coat, 1 long coat, 2 swing jackets, 5 blazers
4. 9 bottoms - 3 trouserss, 6 skirts
5. 22 tops - these can be mixed and matched
6. 0 suit -
7. 0 dresses -
8. 8 jeans - 4 blue/black various leg styles, 1 white, 3 colored denin/cord

Total of 65 pieces for all seasons. That is only 9 pieces more than the original list. Very doable. I chose the pieces that I wear all of the time and will turn the hangers backwards after wearing so I will know what I do not wear. If I pull anything from the corner stash, I will tag them and what I do not wear, I will purge. Hmmm... we will see how this goes.
