With apologies to annagybe, since I know nothing about designers, but I have liked Akris Punto (though I haven't been able to get fitted in what I've tried of it), so this analogy popped into my head for fun.
Trying on the culottes with a cropped sweater because it's boxy, has a high neckline (for Angie-points) and I noticed it would match for a monochrome look. Got that color thing to watch out for.
This square look was trending but is not my best. I did look for some woven summer tops in this genre, but did not find one I liked, because a) they were mostly in white or black and b) I did not look very much.
Pic 1 is S and 2 is XS.. I think.
Anyway, the smaller size looks like it might layer better as sleeve is not as boxy, while larger size top looks like maybe it's supposed to be more intentionally boxy.
Short-sleeved warm sweaters are seasonally confused but might work in AC. The bigger problem is that short tops like this only work for me over fuller bottoms with high waistbands. And I have a similar monochrome option with other tops, and also like to tuck in tops with these culottes when I can. And I might have enough of this warm dark red, which is not actually burgundy.
Other than that, just throwing it out there. Any comments welcome.
