I am looking forward to wearing my NAS tan Booties, and have been (soul) searching for a collection of items in brown. This has been difficult for me because I just don't get very excited about wearing brown. But, as I started collecting a few mustard pieces to my finds, I noticed how well they blended with the tan DV bootie image! The answer just may be that mustard (a color that makes me happy) will be a capsule color to embrace.
Murph11, we are thinking along the same lines. I was going to look for camel/cognac and hunter green for my F/W additions, but now I'm considering mustard instead of camel - and have been encouraged to do so by Angie!
That Zara jacket is awesome! I definitely find mustard easier to incorporate that cognac and am excited to see all these golden/ochre shades trending. Cognac can be a bit too orange-y for me.
I think so and I’m thinking along the same lines as you. I’ve a mustard silk blouse from Boden which I’m really enjoying wearing and I do think of it in the same kind of colour to tan / cognac.
Runcarla, I’ve ordered and tried on a few camel items, which I love, especially with bright white, but the ones I’ve tried do nothing for me and look blah. Mustard will be the stand-in!
Definitely close enough to consider together as a capsule imo! I was looking at some mustard pants but decided id be splitting my wears with my tan ones. I expect my new mustard mules will be workhorses when it gets a bit colder.
I have a few items that are mixed mustard AND brown (beaded earrings, woven leather shoes, a little headscarf) and they are enormously useful for “bridging the gap,” bringing together a warm/neutral palette.
I like brown and noticed that J Crew Factory has some nice shades of brown in t-shirts and sweaters right now. Affordable too.
