Some of them I like. I guess fashion this coming spring will be a state of mind because from a certain perspective this is fun and everything goes together.

As for the mixing of patterns and casual/dressy? I really like it. It gives everyone more options for dressing and gives us all the chance to experiment. Bring it on!
My eye is going to need some training on this one.
I love a pattern mix, and I'm keen on the dressy-with-casual look (at least in theory...in practice it doesn't always work as well, I suspect.)
But I seem to require some relationship between the colours. So I like picture 2 much better than the first pic. Do love the coat and the galaxy print!
It's too much for me. I am not a huge fan of pattern mixing in general. It can look like one got dressed in the dark if you're not careful.

I think I like these examples, but after a while I struggle with these kinds of pattern mixing. When does it look chic and modern, and when does it cross the line and just look wacky? Or is there a line any more? I don't know. I'm new to pattern mixing, but when I attempt to do it, I like there to be some kind of common thread I'm following.
I am very pro pattern mixing but there has to be some cohesion between the colors, patterns, textures, etc. The outfit with the teal lace top looks like it was put together by a homeless prostitute. I like the one with the fireworks.
To me, the first 2 pictures look like the stylist only had time to change the top and left on a totally unrelated bottom.
I'm with Jamie- where do you draw the line? It's like the Emperor's new clothes. When will someone be willing to speak up and say let's quit pretending?
I do like the look of this but my eye is searching for simplicity right now. I think I am reacting against the longevity of the pattern mixing trend.
I also wonder how Joe Public will react to the look, will it be a case of spending hours to refine the look only to be accused of taking a tumble through a jumble sale?
I'm not against pattern mixing but I'm with @modgirl and like some sort of cohesion between patterns. Otherwise, to me, it just looks like you got dressed in the dark and put on whevever random clothes came to hand. I like dressy and casual together although in real life I find it hard to pull off.
I like the second on wit the coat butnthe first picture leaves me cold...and I quite like pattern mixing.
I think it is a thin line you walk with pattern mixing. The first example seems to me like 'Hey, pattern mix is on trend, whatever you throw on together is cool just because it is a pattern mix!"
I rather like the hectic look of pattern mixing, but done this way, (esp. #1), it does not at all look intentional. It reminds me of a very young child who has dressed herself in the morning or of a homeless person trying to stay covered and warm. The coat over the dress (#2) looks *just* okay to my eye because it does not look intentional but rather a pairing from what the person's wardrobe happened to offer.
I like the idea of the lace top and striped bottom but don't like the color combination. I like the galaxy print with the striped coat. After reading Anna's comment I am wondering if they are trying to move merchandise though.
I"m with those who look for some cohesion in the pattern mixing. Photo 2 seems to do this and photo 1 just makes me anxious- I'm looking for a piece that ties it together but it's not there. But I do enjoy dressy-casual combinations.
oof. I had a pretty extreme negative reaction to these pics. I have experimented a bit with pattern mixing but always in a very subtle way. I just don't see the appeal in this.
Hmmm. I sort of like the first one with the stripes and fireworks, but the second one with the teal lace is not pleasing to my eye. Might need some eye adjustment for these new pairings!
