My son gets married on March 31st and I am trying to get my attire in order. He and fiancé live in Washington DC so the wedding will be there. I have my dress, navy blue lace and am still trying to find shoes for it. They come and they go but have not found the perfect pair. Not too worried, yet. The dress took about twenty tries. I am now working on the rehearsal dinner outfit. I found the skirt right off the bat and envision the top to be black with gold buttons, beads, or something. I ordered a J Crew cardigan and will change the buttons to gold if I like it. I really want to wear booties and found these and want your opinions. Too much leg in a flower pot look? Also, not sure about tights. Slightly opaque?

The navy dress is stunning!! I think metallic pumps of some kind would be fab -- like Angie's silver shoes at my wedding!

I love your idea of gold lace skirt with gold-heeled booties and black sweater with gold detailing! In the alternative, you could do a plain black sweater and a gold statement necklace. I think your instinct on the hose is spot on -- I'd do a sheer black hose rather than nude.

I like the booties on you. I'd wear them with sheer black hose or even sheerish black hose with a subtle pattern.

I like the boots quite a lot, in a general sense, but they feel more like a boot for pants to me. I like the idea of gold shoes better. The skirt and dress choices are excellent.

I applaud every choice you've made, every detail is so thought out! The booties are very unique and stylish and special, put on some sheer black stockings and you're all set! I do think sheers are the way to go with the lace-patterned skirt, rather than opaques. And, do the gold buttons on the sweater!!!! Well thought out outfit! You look like a very modern classic.

Very nice find with the Eliza J lace dress! They are one of my go-to brands for wedding outfits. Can't wait to see the shoes you pick, I'm a sucker for metallics.......

LOVE the rehearsal dinner outfit. Add sheer black hose, gold bling and gold clutch. And how do you feel about trimming about two inches of your hair?

Angie, I plan on trimming my hair next month. I do not want it too short, though, because I want to wear it up. Also, I will need a small shoulder bag because I am unable to hold onto a clutch. The silver heels are becoming troublesome. The heel can be no higher than 2 inches and not spikey.

Dress and skirt are fab! Something about that booties are't quite right to my eye and it might be your concern about too much leg in flower pot. And there might be something about the scale of the gold hardware on the boot that feels exceptionally heavy. I think my eye would go right to your feet vs. dancing around your outfit with smaller gold details. Perhaps the bootie's lines need to look like an extension of your leg -- close fitting to the ankle and fit like a glove (or sock) with smaller gold details. I also like the idea of chunky heeled gold pump. Just thinking out loud here...

Small shoulder bag sounds great Deb, and YES, I know you want to keep your hair long. I LIKE it long - don't want you to go too short. Will just look more polished and vibrant a few inches shorter at this longer length.

OMG Deb! I can't believe you are old enough to have a son who is getting married. Love your choices. Angie is so astute about the hair. Just a trim so it still rests on your shoulders (longer than brushing your shoulders, mind) - but can be styled as you wish.

Having just done a 2 month long evaluation, I can say that most clutches have a chain so the bag can go on your shoulder, but the chain can be hidden/tucked inside the bag so it looks like a clutch. My silver and gold clutches both have chains and could be used as shoulder bags.

Great dress for the wedding. I echo the idea of silver shoes. Not necessarily spikey heels but some heel. I love the skirt and cardigan for the rehearsal dinner. The booties idea is a good one. I think with a skirt the booties need to be tight to the ankle. I would also wear black hose. Great idea.

The issue is I need to add my orthotic so I need a full shoe. A sandal closed to the first big toe joint would work, though.

These are beautiful outfits. The skirt will be comfortable with a sweater and still look festive. I like the booties with it, I would go with partly sheer black tights. And the lace dress is beautiful. I love the idea of blue suede pumps with it, as well as silver. Such fun planning for a wedding!

On your Pinterest board -- I'm really drawn to the blue/gold shoe that you have marked too wide, didn't fit. Darn. Darn. The Sara Jessica Parker Tart has me curious. I'm also drawn to that. The Stuart Weitzman Largo Blue Suede also looks nice. For that direction than you can really go bold with the bag. The shoe that you ordered will be interested to see on. It feels more conservative and something about it strikes me as being for an older woman (ugh I said it.) It's a pretty shoe but from the items you have selected, you seem to have a more modern flair.

AM, the blue with the gold heel detail was beautiful but I just could not make them work. My arch is just too high for them and I was so disappointed because I really wanted them. They would look great with jeans, also. The silver pair I ordered just to see. There is something about the flower embellishment that resembles part of the lace on the dress.

Deb, I'm late here but I just want to echo the raves for the blue lace dress -- it's gorgeous and perfect. I agree that a silver shoe could be perfect. I don't know if the Topshop ones are still available anywhere but they have the right kind of a heel and could accommodate an orthotic I think. I also added a few more Finds.

Also, I love your rehearsal dinner outfit. Just gorgeous -- very luxe yet hip.

Great outfits! My son got married in April. It is a lot of work to pull everything together but fun too. Possibly sheer black hose or nude fishnets would work.
