MOTG to 87 teenagers! Wish me luck!

I should specify Uniform Mom, or UMOTG! Marching Band starts tomorrow! I'm Uniform Mom for the second year in a row for the high school marching band. I'll be responsible for fitting and maintaining the marching uniforms and formal concert attire for 87 teenagers! I'll attend every football game and competition, help them dress, and deal with any uniform crises for the next several months. It's a lot of work but the kids really do appreciate it, and it's fun being "mom" to such a great group of kids.

So, I may not be quite as active on the forum over the next few weeks while I'm getting the kids sorted, but I will still check in every day and comment when I can. I promise to stay stylish and forgo the awful band tee shirts!

(Oh, and btw, I can't sew a stitch!)

Thanks ladies! I will have fun! Last year I was frantic because I took on the job on short notice with no experience when the original volunteer backed out. It still ended up being tons of fun. I feel so much more ready for it this year and am looking forward to it!

Oh how fun!
I was in marching band in high school (for one year, anyway). I think we just kept our uniforms at the school. I don't remember anyone being in charge of them. I really enjoyed being a part of the band- I'm sure you will have lots of fun with the kids.

Khris, I too am a 1-year marching band alumna and I don't remember anyone helping with the uniforms! Your kids are lucky to have you, Debora! I hope you have copious amounts of wine (or tea, or whatever calms your nerves) for the evenings. Good luck!
