I can't even wrap my mind around this. We've never even paid that much for a car. I know it's all relative to one's income and money spent is $$ back into the economy... but something about 40 grand for a bag just seems so wrong.

I think at a certain level of wealth, prices must just lose all their meaning.

I also can't believe I'm saying this, but I think this is the most put together she has ever looked.

Yuk. That's one ugly bag. Oh well, there's no accounting for taste.

I thought there were rules about not using wild animals for things like shoes and handbags....? Or are crocodiles so plentiful that they've become pests, so it's justified?

On an interesting but only tangentially related note: my seven-year-old daughter is a dead ringer for Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. Strangers occasionally stop me on the street to tell me this, and have done so since she was two. Funny.

This brings to mind an article I read today stating that V Beckham is rumored to have a $2 million collection of a certain brand of bags (can't remember the brand). Unreal.

It's easy to cast stones, but why do any of us spend more money for a particular brand? There is something to be said for quality, but where do we draw the line? How much is too much, at any budget level?

Victoria Beckham's $2 million bag collection is Hermes Birkins, which honestly is at least a good looking bag.

Unlike this $50K abomination from Louis Vuitton.
