In my final reply on my K/R white blazer thread, I wrote:
I actually wore the blazer to work today, with a breton and black cropped pants. The blazer might not be a 10, but to me, it is a good starting point for experimenting with this look. My four family members are all very positive, too, a.k.a. the fashion police (aged 45, 19, 16 and 14). As far as I'm concerned, this thrifted jacket is in line with the playful part of my style descriptor, if nothing else. I strongly believe in, and enjoy playing with, fashion. It's not my goal to be trendy at all times, nor fashion forward, but I'd like to remain current. What I don't enjoy, is too many rules, so I try not to mind them too much if I notice any. My challenge with this jacket is to make it mine, and to see if I can mould it into my wardrobe to my content. If I find a better looking blazer along the way (which I agree is very probable), it will be very simple to return this one to the Salvation Army. For now, I'm quite happy with the result.
I'm actually quite excited with the blazer right now. For some looks it fits the bill quite well, in my opinion. I've no illusions of resembling Emanuelle Alt, who is infinitely more cool and chic than me, but a girl can dream, right? I will have to make this my own style anyway.
Here are a few stylings I hope you will agree with me on:
#1: WIW today at work - white blazer, cashmere scarf (in the morning only), breton, black cropped pants, silver chain w/ black pearls, snakeskin flats, black tote
#2: White blazer, black sheath, white clutch, black pumps
#3: White blazer, white sheath, white clutch, silver sandals
#4: White blazer, black lace shell, narrow belt, black cropped pants, black pumps, white clutch.
#5: White blazer, chambray shirt, straight leg jeans, white cons, cognac messenger bag.
What do you think? Any and all comments and suggestions are appreciated. Thanks for looking!
