More Soho adventures - YouLookFab Forum

I don't have a computer at work today, so el jefe has sent me on an all day mission to take pictures of store signage for a project. I finally got to go to Topshop after ages. I kept thinking of Louise because it seemed like a place where she would shop. Also passed by Devachan where Ele got her fab haircut. It's right next to Nanette Lepore, where I had a colorgasm upon seeing the rainbow of brights pop in the shop window amng a sea of taupe, beige, and pastel. Then I went by Calypso St Barth, which had a sort of Anthro vibe, and then to Hayden Harnett where I immediately thought of the damage Cathy could do if let loose there! I also discovered a shop called Frocks. Angie and Laura could go wild there. Me too if I could afford it.

So needless to say you guys are always with me on my shopping adventures (even though I'm technically working and not actually shopping). I wish I could take you all on a tour here!

Also went to Miz Mooz on my own time and found some delicious buttery soft white oxfords that Angie must try. I also tried the dress on at Urban Outfitters that I was going to try last week but ran out of time. I love it and will post pics tonight. Got the belt too.

Ok, the camera is charged so I'm off to take more pics. Thanks for virtually following my shopping tour of Soho/Nolita.

Well I was bored and had no computer when I got back and waited for the battery to recharge so I thought why not share. Also it was actually not such a great day, so I had to sort of delude myself into thinking it was. It was pouring rain and I was walking around outside in it from 10-5 and I am feeling a little shivery and sick now

Oh, it's apparently Frock singular. It's a high end luxury vintage store but I had no idea it was vintage until I went to their website. The merchandise looked brand new.

Now that I see the prices, not even you or Laura could probably afford it! Still fun to look though. Angie, you must try the oxfords I saw at Miz Mooz. They are unbelievably soft. Even if they are not for you, I bet you might have clients who would like them. They are on sale and I think I might need to find a way to afford them.

I saw this beautiful little dress outside a shop called Catgirl and fell in love. The fabric was divine. I could not stop molesting it, and I think the shop girls thought I was weird. I was too afraid to look at the price tag but I'm pretty sure our love is doomed.

The frocks looks divine. Love the retro red polka dot too.

The oxfords are KILLER. Are they really soft? Like soft how I like soft? I really want the fidji oxfords in black. They are heaven on my feet - and wearing them with leggings, black makes sense to me too.

Very soft. There was another pair with broguing that wasn't nearly as soft, but these were like butter.

Go with the Fidjis since you know you love them and they love you back. I'm after something more androgynous and masculine myself so these fit the bill for me.

It's funny that you mentioned my haircut since I'm getting another one in three hours! Am actually quite nervous as I've never been to this salon before. Going to go channel thoughts of Devachan now...

Cathy, I totally had this very detailed fantasy where the owner of the boutique (and designer if the clothes) spots me on the street and runs after me, telling me how I have the exact shape and body type she envisioned when she made this dress. She would then offer it to me for free in exchange for modeling it for her. It could happen :p

Ele, how sad you won't be making it I was looking forward to making snarky comments about red carpet style over tea and fruitless scones. Maybe next year. How'd the haircut go? I loathe dealing with new stylists and salons, as I have mentioned countless times already, so I'll spare you. I hope it went well!

Let's not write our tea and bitching off yet, Maya- I might still make it in September! A friend of mine is getting married back home then, and if I go to the wedding alone (not sure if Andrew will want to come), I'll likely stop in NYC for a few days on the way back.

Haircut is okay, but I'm still getting used to it. I went for an inverted bob, a lot like Shiny's. I like the shape but it's a LOT shorter than the stylist told me it would be, both in front and in back. I bet I'll love it in a month, though.

I bet we could all do some serious damage at that frocks shop, and Miz Mooz always seems to have such interesting and fab shoes.

I think you need to walk by that shop a few more times, the owner obviously wasn't wearing her glasses last time. She'll jump at the chance to have you model that dress!!-)
