Also tried the white one again.

Interestingly (to me, at least, ha!) Mr. Suz LOVED the white one in person. He hadn't liked it at all in the photos.

The red one is lighter weight despite being longer. It is sportier in person and not as flattering but definitely not bad. All salespeople agreed the white one was best on me.

But...those leather sleeves. Having said that, believe it or not, the SA says she washes her coats with leather on them and simply treats the leather afterwards with a Danier product. HUNH????

I haven't commented on your puffer search although I've read your posts with interest. I have no need of a puffer in my climate so don't have much to add to the conversation. However, I just wanted to say, I like the red color and the quilting on the top. How does it feel to you?

The white snow bunny coat looks great on you. The pom pom things would drive me insane, and personally would be a deal killer.

I wash (by hand) my vintage Coach bags. I put a lot of conditioner on them afterwards (several coats) and they turn out fine.

Wow, JAileen, that is amazing. So you are not the only one. This salesperson puts her leather leggings into the wash!!! And doe exactly what you say -- conditions up the yin/yang afterwards. I must say that makes it tempting.

I have some hesitations about the pompoms, too. Although they're strangely not as snow-bunny in person. You can also cross them over one another and then it looks like a sort of extension of the hood fur. I discovered it by accident and quite liked the effect.

I think they all look terrific.

To my mind the middle one while it looks great is not the statement injection you want - although I really like it.

The red is cheery, practical and an awesome looking jacket. The colour is versatile, it looks super warm, and I think you would get great wear from it.

The white one is stunning - it is a wildcard to my mind. The shape is very flattering and it suits you brilliantly. It is not as practical and may not get as much wear - however for filthy days or more low key events you have another puffer. This one is a statement for fun, and I think it would be a fun addition which is what you want. Pom poms - super fun. I say get this one, and while it won't be perfect for every occasion you will love wearing it when you can.

I missed the earlier post but I agree with KG that if this is a back up/spare jacket the white is the go. Really stunning. But if it is for everyday use the first 2 might be more practical. And they both look good too. I really like the second but I am very partial to burgundies and Browns.

All the coats look great, the white one is my favorite, too.
What are their temperature ratings?
It sounds a little weird to me to wash coats with leather sleeves. I wonder if the SA was just being pushy? When I went to Danier I walked out with the impression that they will do anything to sell you something. They do have great stuff and I got three jackets and ordered another one by mail. It is just that the SAs seemed aggressive for the sale to me so I would take their advice with a grain of salt. You probably know better than me because they are in your area though.

Really liked #2 until I saw #3. You look stunning and radiant, and the coat will pick you up during long, grey winter days. If upkeep is a problem because of slush and spray, then I vote #2.

I love the idea of leather sleeves on a white coat. I had a white and gray and black coat, a million years ago, and with white sleeves and cuffs, the coat had to be washed frequently. Leather would resist grubby, and if the sales person says it can be washed . . . well . . . that sounds great.

Just to add, white outerwear, like white snow or a white car, is so hard to keep bright and sparkling clean.... If anyone can do it, you can - but I know just shoveling out the car would ruin a white coat for me. It's fairy princess fab on you though!

Regarding the white coat: If you're mostly walking rather than trying to get in a car without brushing against it, then the part that would look dirty first would be the sleeves. And you could probably keep them looking fresh with baby wipes.

Yes, I almost never get in a car. And would never wear this to shovel a car out. I have my down vest for that job. Or the grey coat.

Hmmm. My white leather jacket hasn't needed cleaning yet. I have spot-cleaned it a bit but that's it. Mind you, I don't wear it in the slush.

This is a tough decision.

Una, I like the eggplant colour in itself, too. And I actually think it looked better on me IRL than in the photo. But it felt dark and I'm specifically looking for something bright or light. I have my dark grey coat for days when I'm into dark...

Thanks everyone for input. I appreciate it. I am making no rash decisions with this. I suspect the white one may go on a deeper sale later on in the season. How many people will buy a white puffer, after all?

Sveta is the Danier sale expert. I'll bet she can predict the timing of their next cuts. I think I would be more willing to buy it if the price goes down even more. Then it can be a wild card fun addition and I can also get a more practical coat if I like either this year or next.

Suz, I LOVE the white puffer! I feel like you're supposed to have the white puffer.

Ariana at Paris-to-Go commutes in Paris on the Metro, in a white coat, and launders it herself, and her coat is a high-end designer coat (I think it's Margiela). If she can do it, you can do it - get the coat that makes you feel the happiest

I've been following too but refraining- because I'd just moan about the dearth of selection here where I am. I think the white is a stunner - but there's the trying to keep it white...

I really like #2 and then #3 but think the length of #1 would make it warmer. They are all very nice.

I think the pom poms are a deal breaker for me. Otherwise it's a very nice puffer. I quite like all of them, actually. Would the red one be more practical because it's longer?

I do think the white is the most striking, but I seem to remember you specifically wanting a coat that is both brighter (check) and a bit sporty, if not actually gear. Are you wanting to really move out in this coat, and is it supposed to be breathable and comfortable to move in?

(You look like a million bucks. Danier envy strikes again).

I was the one I voted for a red coat last time, but from these 3 the burgundy one (Danier Silvia) wins them all- color and fit, too!

I like the red one for the color, but I like the length and fit of the second coat better.

For me, parkas last for years and years, so buy what you LOVE.

when i clicked thru to the Danier site, it says that the Silvia (burgundy coat) has leather trim…..i'm assuming that if you bought this one, you'd planned on washing it, or maybe not….
anyway, i love the white coat for the way it closes, love the ability to close it 2 ways…and the color is fab….
but truthfully, i think all 3 of these are great and would/could work wonderfully.

I like puffer #2 best actually, which surprises me! That shade of bordeaux is magnificent on you, and I LOVE the texture of the faux fur trim. Absolutely killer - if you're happy with the length. Very chic. Regal.

I like the white next - gorgeous fit. If that's the fave and you can manage the leather sleeves, I'm cheering you on.

And yes, kkards, that is leather trim on the Sylvia, although it probably would not pose much of a problem since the coat is darker and would require less frequent cleaning than the white one. Presumably.

That coat was a size too big for me; I would have to order my size. I tried it in black in the size down, which was a better fit.

I love the white one, but know the reality all too well. Leaning over a salty sandy car to scrape the window... done. I know you are thinking walking, but are you REALLY never going to brush up against a car? Cuz cars in winter are filthy.
