More of Nordstrom doing the right thing

I'm really so happy about this protective stand. No matter how you feel politically, you must want to see examples of an employer taking extra measures to make their employees feel safe. This makes me feel pretty good about this company.

A lot of companies are doing this. And I agree with you and Cynthia. Good for them. Good for mankind. We simply can't escape the fact that we are a global economy ; whether we like it or not. We are also a human one. : )

I have to add that I think this matters, posting this here. I had internally debated boycotting Nordstrom around the time of all the discussion around #grabyourwallet. I buy from them in infrequent spurts anyway, but i felt very bad about officially putting the company on a no-buy list, because they have such good customer service and so forth. I'm genuinely glad that this is no longer even a consideration for me.

And as someone said on another thread, it's the market speaking.

Thanks for sharing that -- I am heartened to see that as well.

I never considered boycotting an entire retailer for carrying a brand or two that I would personally never support for my own ethical or political reasons, but clearly these movements can be effective.

The major university i work for did the same thing.

I got to work this past monday and we had a beautiful e-mail that was prepared. So many people are worried. I think this is a beautiful and empathetic thingk to do.
