So, I did find some light summer jackets from TJ Maxx and Loft that were a steal and that I can wear through the Fall. Plus I can dress up and down (except for #1). One of the best finds was an Adidas jacket that I've always wanted (at a steal for $20). I'm channeling my inner Gwen Stefani (before she went country).

Is it me or do I look thinner in black?? I feel fab in black. Whenever I wear light color clothing, I feel like I'm heavier than I look.

#1 and 2 - TJ Maxx. Adidas jacket
#3 - Loft cream blazer. So light and great for any time.
#4 - TJ Maxx. 'm a sucker for a military jacket style.
#5 - Loft. Light army green jacket.

Ooh, I love these! With the new finds in hand, I would definitely cull some of the jackets in your other post!

These are all fabulous. I agree with Echo now and say cull some of the other jackets (just not #1) - it is too cool :). I look thinner in black.

All fab!!! May I ask you the brand of the black and beige shoes in the picture nr 3? I have been looking for a similar pair for quite sometime!!!

Those are great and better than some of your others! Though are also all longsleeved, and you may need some of your lighter ones.
Red: black— you have high-contrast coloring and you wear black very well, is the thing. Also high- contrast in items in your outfit. And maybe fine variations of which light colors work best. So you might just want to review your color palette for those items that you think give you that look of, hey, that’s me.

Each one is a winner! The Loft cream blazer looks great with a column of black. I agree with unfrumped. Your high-contrast coloring makes black a wonderful color for you.

Reading your earlier post I wanted to suggest letting go of everything, with the possible exception of number 3, especially because you said you'd already set aside your favorites.

These are all better than the others. I see you as just a naturally glamorous woman and I prefer the styles that support the powerfulness of that.

Maybe your wardrobe will be too large if you keep all these and all the others, but the design details are quirkier in the older ones in the other post. I prefer the Adidas and the cream in this post to the TJ Maxx and Loft which are not as either cool or glamorous as the first two IMO.

These are all great. I love your outfit channeling Gwen S--you are rocking it!

The cream blazer is dynamite. The others add variety and some more casual looks, too. Nice fits across the board.

You do look terrific in black. I think the cream blazer outfit is just as slimming as any all-black looks, though, and probably in part because of the column of black created by having the blazer open. I think you could create this effect with a different color, though, too, but black is just such a great neutral for you, with your hair color and glasses.

The outfit in 4 isn't as visually elongating, because the jacket is buttoned and it's high-contrast with the black. In outfit 5, again you have a black vertical line, so I find the look is more elongating.

Love all of these jackets on you, especially 1/2 and 3 for work. The last two look good but seem too casual but you are the best judge of that.

I love the outfits. FWIW I think that perhaps you are seeing your nipped in waist on those jackets with waist detailing, which shows off your figure beautifully. Adidas outfit is so cool!

They all look terrific. Love the Adidas and I'm going to come steal that grey military one (I have a similar one in a sagey olive color that gets worn a lot when the weather cools off). I ventured into TJMaxx last week for a couple of things for the Airstream (baskets and bins for storage) and didn't even look at clothes. What label is that grey jacket?

unfrumped - I tend to keep my jackets in the neutral tones (except for the busy ones I posted), but all my colors and prints are in my tops. I just can't do a red jacket for some reason.

nuancedream - I'm all about the high contrast and probably won't change that.

Jenni NZ- I know what you mean about collecting items that I no longer wear, so I'll have to make that final decision to get rid of things. It's so hard though.

Firecraker - that #4 jacket is not a very good photo. I may have to retake. However, the jacket fits me to a tee and I like the military aspect of the jacket.

Joy - Unfortunately, I work in a very conservative place so I have to keep them around.

Great jackets! My favorites are the military ones but really they are all items that will be versatile and a good third piece in an outfit. I agree that you look great in black, not everyone does I don't think. It goes with your higher contrast coloring.

You wear them all well. I keep coming back to #5, because the drawstring (?) detail looks particularly good on you. And you certainly look great in black.

I have 2 of those Kenzie jackets, and they have been workhorses in my climate. Mine are in 2 different sizes and one is gray and the other cool tan. Sized down and it fits like a more tailored jacket. A size up and it is a bit more casual utility vibe. I usually look to see if other colors, darker, might show up.
