Here are some shoe try-ons, un-styled.
I ordered the Dansko Daisie booties (pics 1-2) in bone, in two sizes, 37 and 38. (I'm almost always a 37.5 when it is offered.) The 37 fit best, as I expected from previous experience with Dansko.
At first when I received the Dansko boots, I liked the feel of the
footbed and the fit around the foot. The boots are stiff, though, and
the top part knocks against my shin when I walk (with knee-high
socks, which I would wear with these). I wasn't thrilled with that!
Also, the color is more pink-tan in person than the more grayish bone I
was hoping for. I plan to return them, but thought you might like to see them. I really like the style and the look of them.
Also ordered the Munro Winslow monk strap loafer (pics 3-4) in fawn. In the past, my Munro size was 7W, but I found it was too small. In this style, 7.5 W fits best. Probably keeping these. I'm a little unsure, simply because the color is a bit out of my usual range. But it will go with a lot of my fall and winter clothes, and it provides an alternative to my dark gray oxfords and dark silver loafers.
I'm also showing Mephisto Soria booties (pics 5-6) in pewter--which I found on sale on the Mephisto site (not NAS)--and which I'm inclined to keep. They feel terrific, and they go with so much of my wardrobe. I have a pair of Mephisto booties in a metallic pewter, which are more silvery and leather. These are more toward a wet-cement color, and are nubuck. I like how they bookend my hair. They are the same footbed as the other booties I have (not just in metallic pewter but also wine nubuck) and three pairs of Mephisto sneakers that I have worn tons. I think this style is pretty unremarkable looking, and maybe not chic, but I can see them being a go-to choice come winter. I was inspired to get them as a substitute for the Danskos, because I had in mind I'd like a light colored bootie. Okay, so these aren't very light-colored. But they work with most of what I wanted them to work with. And the loafers will work with the rest.
Shown in Finds: these three pairs, plus my other Mephisto booties.
