I feel like i've shot back 15 years to senior school! We used to wear knee high legwarmer thickness socks ruched down round the ankles. Anyway enough trips down memory lane! Here are the photos
I think this is what Danja meant by under the foot? Looks similar to stirrup leggings i like this one

I think it works better with a shorter skirt (another memory lane trip rolling the waistband of my skirt up!!!)

That works much better in my opinion. Thanks for the pics!

I think legwarmers have got to either be: tonal to your shoes/boots, or tonal to your tights, or both. Does that make sense?

Angie -- when you say "tonal" do you mean the same color family? Sometimes when I see black tights and black legwarmers together, it just looks like you have lumpy lower legs because there's no contrast between the tights and the legwarmers. But maybe my eye has not adjusted to the look

LOVING it Louise!!! You gals make me wish SO bad I wished in a place with a cooler climate. Even wearing boots is stretching it but darned if I'm not this winter!

The underfoot picture is hot. I'm feeling, though, that I couldn't pull it off. Hmmm. That makes me want to try it, just for fun. (Thanks, Angie, for helping me get to this place.) I agree that the shorter skirt is a better look for legwarmers than the longer. Someone did mention doing this as a knitting project. Love that idea!

Alecia give it go, i did it almost as a joke believing everyone would laugh and look where it got me everyone's loving them!

Angie being rather dense here! When you say tonal you mean tones of the same colour ie grey and black, but not the same colour ie black tights and black leg warmers? x

Dense”! I love that word. We use it at home. We use “thick” too. But you are neither, Louise.

By tonal I mean: tones of the same colour – any colour. Black and dark grey are tonal. Black and black are tonal. Pink and pink are tonal. Red and blue are NOT tonal.
