The jacket search continues. I was at H&M on Friday and found two possibilities for a sweet, girly throw over jacket. I also found two options for a possible avant-garde topper.

For a few hours I thought I'd found the frills at the hips jacket in a larger size. It was on hold, but before I could get to the store, it was accidentally returned to the sales floor and was gone by the time I got there. Not meant to be.

Sweet and Girly:
Jacket 1 (Pics 1 to 4)
is a cotton jacket, so feels great to the touch. I like the girly pleats all around. No bunching on the side even though the picture with it closed looks like it.

Jacket 2 (Pics 5 to 7)
is similar. Poly blend, but soft. The pockets have little pleats. I'm worried this might just look like a work appropriate suit jacket rather than a going out on a date jacket.

More Avant-Garde
Jacket 3 (Pics 8 to 10)
is a sleek jacket with ruched sleeves. It looks a little like the Helmut Lang smoking jacket and Una's Theory jacket, but a little more restrained. I like it a lot, but I wonder if part of what makes those other two so great is the fact that they are a little extreme. Isn't this just a basic with a twist?

Jacket 4 (Pics 11 to 13)
is a shiny, coated linen fabric. Really interesting texture and shine. I'm worried it may read too summery and I'm not a fan of the orange lining (love the concept, but not the execution on this one). The orange makes turned up sleeves more of a challenge.

There will likely be an avant-garde jacket showdown soon. I ordered the Helmut Lang jacket in the next size up and I have an ASOS jacket in a similar shape on its way. In the meantime....

Are any of these 10s?
