Ok, just placed my order for 5 pounds of Finnan Haddie from my buddy Richard Penfold.
No point in buying less - the resident gentlemen can eat their way through a pound of smoked whitefish salad in a couple of days.
Last time I ordered 2 pounds of boneless kippers as well and shared a pound of those and a pound of Finnan Haddie with my friend Alistair, who grew up in a fishing village in Scotland.
I forgive him for the fact that both gifts are still in the freezer. Their son will be home for Christmas and they will thaw and cook both. Or so they say.
