More boots... how do these strike you?

Do these look too unstructured to be my dressy boots? What are your initial thoughts? Of course nothing answers that question better than ordering them, I realize but would like your thoughts first.

If I'm seeing the right boots, the buckles detract from the sleek factor. You are looking for dressy black boots, right?

yes Mo, I'm looking for dressy-ish. Right now my only black boots are my engineer style boots. They do fine when I want to add edge, but sometimes I feel the need to be more refined.

I like the look of them except the buckles. I've ruined more tights on a pair of boots I have with buckles and the ones you've posted, while the buckle seems to help with the calf adjustment the tails look like they would stick out too much.

I think they'll add the edge that you're looking for and the buckles add a nice little detail.

Laura- I've looked at those, but not had them on. I am really trying to keep the heel to no more than 2 1/2 inches. I can do a 3 inch heel, but it's pushing it. Granted, these are only $99,but my thought was that if I invest in a pair of boots, I need to know that the heel will work for me for several years...and I'm not getting any younger and my feet aren't getting any less fussy.

Dressy-ish or dressy? The buckles are great to my eye, but if you want real dressy they may not cut it. Love the boots regardless!

I really like these boots, but after reading everyone else's responses, I can see how a boot without embellishments would be more versatile for dressier occasions. Those Franco's are fab, but I for one stick to my guns about heel height and so should you!

Una- dressy-ish, not overtly dressy. Like I said, dressier than my current black boots which are great with jeans and to add edge to a dress, but I'm not always feeling good about wearing them with dresses...kindof like they are my only option, so I'm making do. Heaven forbid that it comes to that!

Sorry, Queen Mum, I don't think these are dressy enough. I actually prefer your current boots to the ones at Zappos.

Believe me, I share your frustration over finding the perfect pair of black dressy boots!

I ordered these and I actually liked them, they fit nice on my short 13" thick legs. I did end up sending them back because the foot was too tight ( I had ordered a 6.5 as I normally wear) I would size up 1/2 size. These also have a low heel.

In the end I decided on other boots which I would recommend but the heel is higher than you want.
