More bootie choices... a dressy version and more casual version.

Today I tried on booties again. I wore a dress with black tights this time, so I had a better idea if I liked them with them. I liked both of these:

I like the Bandolino one as a more dressy option. The version I tried on had a snake skin pattern on the back patent part, but it looks like some of the online versions are just patent.

I also really liked the SE boot. I'm wondering about the exposed back zipper, though. It didn't really bother me, but alot of people in reviews hated it. It's more obvious in the black version (which I tried on). I also like the burgundy version, which they didn't have at the store here. The zipper isn't as obvious in that one. I was also surprised to see that the heel on this one is almost 3" because it didn't feel like it. I would probably wear this one mostly with pants, although I think I could wear it with dresses.

Anyway, what do you think of those two. I guess I mostly am wondering if you think the exposed zipper is tacky or ok.

I don't mind the exposed zipper, but I have two pairs of shoes with this feature, so I guess I'm biased :). You're right though it is very noticeable on the black boot compared to the other colours. The Bandolino is definitely a dressier look but they are both great boots to my eye.

I love exposed zippers, and I love the red SE bootie. SE shoes run too narrow for me, which is the only reason I don't own it.

The Bandolino one is killer too--love the snakeskin.

Shannon has these boots and loves them. I like the look of them too. I have a pair of dolce vita with a zipper down the back and it sometimes rubs so I only wear them with pants. As long as it doesn't rub, I would say go for it.

I like both of these booties. Alot! the SE booties seem really versatile and the zipper doesn't bother me, but I would say that lends it to a more casual look but would look great with skirts and dresses as well as pants.

Both look great. The SE looks phenomenal in the red but I am not in love with the black version. I like an exposed zipper but I dont like the rose gold color, I feel it looks too obvious on the black.

The Bandolino is a beautiful shootie... I think that would be my choice, as long as the heel height is comfortable.

Dianthus, I didn't realize those were the same as Shannon's red booties. It would be nice to see what the burgundy looked like in person, but The Bay only had the black version. I did like the distressed version on the black and they were surprisingly comfortable! Thanks also for the warning about the zipper rubbing. I didn't wear them long enough to even think about that.

Thanks Carole for the yes votes. And, Deborah, thanks for your opinion on the zipper on the black. The Bandolino is a great height! It's only about 3-1/2 with 1" platform, so they are really comfortable. Most I've tried are way too tall!

I love the exposed zippers, mainly because they are up the back like seamed hose. Cool. Go for the comfiest ones!

They are so different. How would you plan to wear them? The Bandolino's seem dressy and the booties could do either way. I love the exposed zipper.

You are right, they are very different. I think maybe I need to bring both of them home and try them with different outfits. Maybe I need both?...

I have booties that are almost identical to the SE. I am wearing them all the time.
The others seem more dressy. They are really pretty, I am just not feeling the pointy skinny heel these days.

I love the SEs and I know a lot of people have them - Shannon wears her red ones a lot, I think.

As others have already commented Jem, I have the SE's in red and LOVE them! I adore the rose gold coloured exposed zipper - to me it's the detail that totally makes the boot. They are extremely comfortable for me but definitely won't work for a wide foot, if that's an issue for you. I have worn the boots a fair bit already and they can handle an 8-10 hour day no problem. In fact, check them out in Angie's store since I posted a review. The zipper is bold so you have to be comfortable with that. If I wasn't trying to SYB, I'd be buying these in another colour.

I hadn't noticed the Lisle boots before because I would have thought they were too tall, without seeing them in person. I was concentrating more on the Petty boots in the store, although the burgundy is pretty much sold out on those.

Thanks for your comments Shannon! I love your red ones on you. I was surprised how comfortable they were when I tried them on. I'm thinking I should go try on the size down, too because my normal size definitely wasn't too small. That's good to know that they are comfortable enough for a long day of wear! I kindof liked the zipper on the back. I'm wondering what the burgundy looks like in real life. The Bay only had the black.
